  Protective
For being considered the 'older brother' to his siblings Proteus has a very distinct protective nature towards them, with the ones he loves and cares as well but especially his siblings. But this is a coin of two sides, it can be really helpful as they are cubs and have no real sense of danger, but as they grow Proteus might develop to a possessive nature.

  Rebel (might change with age)
Can you blame him? Proteus comes from a mostly calm family, almost everyone he knows is cool-minded and handle things 'the way that it's supposed to be' and that gets on his nerves sometimes. That is one of the main reasons his rebel and explosive temperament came from, another reason is unconscious self defense.

  Bold
The firstborn is just like any of the other cubs, but just the tittle of being 'first' at something makes Proto proud and a little bit of a show-off. He knows to respect the ones older to him just as much as any other creature but he won't think much about it if he had to defend himself or the ones he loves and care about, he might seem a little impulsive to some but in reality he measures the situation pretty well before acting.

  Selfish
Proteus can be extremely self centered sometimes, this characteristic concern his parents especially because when you live in a community like the Empires there is no individual, but a group, a family. What doesn't make this characteristic worse is the fact that he is only selfish when a subject matters a lot to him, what doesn't make it less bad but it's more comprehensive.

  Clever
Despite being so young Proteus has already a better notion of the world functionality than most of his age and even his siblings, however he doesn't realize it until something next to extraordinary happens, he feels there is a little something different about him but he doesn't gives it much attention.

  Predictable (might change with age)
He can't help it, the more he tries to hide the more evident it becomes, Proteus is a terrible liar and his actions are really predictable at the point that he might become easy to manipulate if he doesn't pay attention enough.
