End. :> Overall I'm pretty happy with how this turned out given that it was my first time really illustrating with nib pens--but gosh, the stokes it gave me for the tree were just so awesome, augh~ * v *And um, well, yeah. I know that it's kind of inconsistent for him to have wings in the end, but... I don't know, I just... wanted him to be able to fold around the other, you know? So, yeah.
This looks 10x better in person, and you can see how much more OCD I was about the ink splatters, ahahaha--they're so fine it's been called textured paper, aha. xD
Anyway, I just... yeah, I really enjoyed getting to work on this comic, haha. Enjoy.

Th-Thank you so much for your super-kind comment! I used to ink EVERYTHING, ALL THE TIME, but then I lost confidence in my lines for a while... I'm glad that I can still kinda do it, though!
And really, this is just because of the sequential art class I took, comic work might slow for a while unless inspiration strikes me, hahah! But, thank you so much for your comments, seriously, you're too nice!

And you say it was your first time using nib-pens? It looks like you've been using them for a long time! I love the strokes, really really clean.

Ahhh, I've been told to move beyond my parallel-line-shading, though... it can definitely clutter up my pages, so I'll be trying something new next... but thanks, G! I really do love line-shading, it's so soothing to do... 9v9;;

I think the only problem with parallel-line shading is that it can obscur details sometimes. If it's a line heavy drawing then that kind of shading can make details unclear.

The single hatching on this page really worked out well! I wasn't sure about what happened in the end though, did he turn into a bird? :0
Anyway, this story is paced extremely well, and it tells a lot while still remaining ambiguous despite being only three pages long. Great job on this, and I'm definitely loving this shading technique with the pens.

I gotta admit I'm kinda proud of those angles--the top-down one with the tree in the bottom-left was hard as hell to get right D:
And yeah I like tried pen and ink before and always wanted to break the pen out of frustration--but apparently my ink just dries out really fast?? So I just keep dropping in water every hour/so as I work on it and it helps a lot?? xD;

Absolutely...amazing. These three pages. Beautiful framework, beautiful pacing, such wonderful expression and feeling, and just...the quality of the lines makes me so goddamn happy. The subtle use of tone adds to the feeling of the stark landscape.

That splatter process must've been fun. ^^ Did you use frisket or tape (or just lay paper over the comic) while you attacked it? Great job on the nib...! I haven't had much fun with nibs; the line varies on its own it seems ...and then it up and clogs. >.>
Love the clouds, the wood grain, the sand, Still not sure about the horizon - the single hatching is trippy (almost hypnotic @.@) but I'm convinced that was the ideaaa. ^~
