Description Just wanted to throw together all the stuff piling up since break/wintersession and this first half of the semester. Actually drawing less than usual since I've got more interesting classes to pay attention to, haha.

Uuuuuuuuh, yeah. Not much to say for myself.
I think the only OC here is Seth doodled just once, lmao. But I've been painting my OCs a lot lately so it's all good. C:

I'm used to you ripping your art to shreds...but COME ON! Those life studies you've done are perfect! Perfect and genius! How can you say that you need to practice or that you can't do it? I can see it right there! You CAN do it! You don't need practice!

And what's this about not being able to draw animals? I can see them too! YOU CAN DRAW THEM!

Someone could almost be forgiven for suspected that you deliberately wrote those misleading comments on the page to mess with people's heads. You know...write the opposite of what's going on.

Auuuuugh, I--I know, G, I know, I keep--I keep expecting too much of myself and wanting to be so far ahead of where I am, but still, it just frustrates me so much...
Like, I can do a life drawing, right? Or something from reference, but then I compare it to what I doodle on my own and it's just... it's so bland and flat and it just bothers me that I can't seem to TAKE what I see in real life/photos and apply it to my art... graaaaaagh.

But heaps of people use reference constantly. It's not like they reach a point where they know every pose from memory. They keep getting reference so they can add a bit of that realism to what they're doing. So it's not like you're failing in some way because your referenced stuff doesn't seem to measure up to the original stuff. It's natural. I think anyone who drew from life reference would get better results.

Mmmn, yeah, I guess... it's just, at this stage for me, I'm torn between either basically copying a reference and feeling like the art is GOOD but not mine, and drawing something on my own that ends up flat since I don't use references for it. I need to draw lots more from reference so I can get a better sense of human anatomy, but I'm finding that somehow incredibly hard to do, or to translate into actually getting me to remember the realistic proportions... It's tough. ;v;

I guess it depends on what you're doing with the reference. But at the end of the day...you're still drawing it. Even if you recreate the reference exactly you're still drawing it with your hand. That can still be appreciated. Maybe you should try using reference as a guide. Have reference in front of you but use it to draw something original.

You should totally try left hand, haha! It takes a little bit to get used to, but it's also really fun and you'd be surprised what you can draw with it. :u I find that it actually helps me to draw new faces at new angles, so ya!

I really love seeing all your note doodles like this! That praying mantis really gets me~<333
Also, there's something I've noticed about your faces that I've been meaning to mention. I really love the detail you put into all the features of the face, and then the HAIR! So beautiful! But then I feel like you have a little trouble with proportion sometimes and it kind of takes away from your amazing skill... A nice little thing to remember is that the eyes are halfway between the bottom of the chin and the very top of the skull. That's the only thing I've noticed really, and it's something I've only seen on occasion. I think it was most noticeable to me in the picture you did of Pepper and KenKen not that long ago. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOOOVE that piece! <3 That's just what stuck out to me.

Ahhhhhhh, thank you for pointing that out, hun! I've always had trouble with facial proportions and remembering everything, and you're totally right; I've been silly and forgetting that ratio when I do side-profiles and the like.

I just couldn't stand using pencil to take my notes in, haha. My bookbag always chews up my notebooks so the graphite would smear, so I just got used to ballpoints... THE PRESSURE SENSITIVITY. THEY ARE AMAZING FOR IT. 8U
