And the dumpage of art begins! This is mostly old stuff from the first half of the semester, but I guess more memorable/interesting because of... whatever.After this it just turns into a lot of rough life-drawing sketches. Boop. Been practicing on my classmates, see.

Classes (and NaNoWriMo) are finally done with--just finals and art to worry 'bout now. Hopefully I'll get more time to poke around here, too--sorry 'bout the lack of activity lately!

Sai was the first one I tried with a tablet, but I never learned how to use it properly. (well, technically I'd used photoshop once or twice before that when borrowing a friend's tablet, but I was so terrible at it... and then it ate my file :< ) But yeah, I have a lot of old Sai doodles and they're all crap. xD;; I learned everything I know about digital painting in pchat.

Wow, really? oAo That's pretty amazing, hahah! I think I need to figure out a decent painting program for myself again though, because the ability to do things like rotate my canvas and change proportions and what have you would be handy. It's just right now, I've fallen out of love with the feel of SAI's tools, augh~ >>;

yeah... I've only ever used Sai, and photoshop a couple of times, but that was so long ago I forget. I have gimp but I don't understand how it works.... I sometimes use Sai for paintovers/touchups but there's just something about oekaki tools; I can't paint well without them.

Augh, yeah, I just can't get SAI to match oekaki's transparency/overlaying abilities right now, and it's driving me nuts... I'm going to try and figure it out, though! I feel bad spamming craic with comic work sometimes, and I really want some of the features of SAI sometimes, or at least, the ease of changing the canvas size and moving things around... xD

I don't know if it's possible to achieve the type of painting you do, with a hard-edge pencil tool...the only way I know how to get hard pixels is Binary, but that only works for solids....

Actually, my problem is with transparency--if you lower the opacity on SAI it makes the MAXIMUM that opacity, so it won't overlap and get progressively darker, which is what I really loved about the program, really.
There's some other opacity that kind of gives me what I want, but the brush looks uneven, so I get irritated, grr...
Sometimes, simplicity is best, huh? xD;;;

I've been fiddling around with the settings on brushes a lot, trying to figure out how to replicate the pencil tool in SAI... but so far, no success.

You layer so much pen on those drawings. 
There's something about those side profiles you've done that's very captivating. You make them look like real people and you want to know what they're thinking...or something like that. Whenever you draw profiles you always give them individuality and this air of introspection that's very interesting.
That last pic is awesome too. That's right...I'm just ignoring all your lies about this art.

And I can't help but fall in love with the doodles with the red geometric backgrounds/shadows. They are so awesome!
