Sooooo yeah, I really love my sketchbook??? It's like, some cheap $9 ProArt sketchbook but the way it holds watercolors just feels really nice, and I'm getting into the hang of inking again using a hybrid technica pen, so I've just been drawing and coloring up a storm! Though it feels a tad different to be watercoloring back home now--in China the humidity really soaked into everything, hahah! But so uh yeah, I was drawing somewhere between 1-2 pages every day, so-! Expect a lot of art upcoming. c:Some of this stuff is pretty old, so uhhhh, not much else to say, I guess... I am actually compiling a second sketchdump, just for Iris, comin' up soon-!
And sorry I'm so terrible at drawing girls, gonna keep working on that-! ;-;

GAH. These dumps are so inspiring. The mix of characters studies and landscapes and interiors and colours...so makes you want to go and get a sketchbook and start experimenting and studying. But then you realise you'd probably have to learn how to draw better before you tried to emulate dumps like this.
Just...just...brilliant stuff.

I'm okay, well, to some extend)
I'm having my end-of-semester exams at university - summer session as we call it here. So now I'm studying hard and had to put off everything - books, games, films, all of it.
Today is the last one, algebra, so I'll be free tomorrow and till the end of summer, yay!
A haven't drawn anything for months, gosh. It's not that I don't want - I can't. I can't just sit down and express everything I want just like I want. Maybe when I have time it will be better.

And, yeah, the frustration of not being able to draw what you want is always there, and really hard to fight--but take your time, and just keep practicing, and it'll get better~ <3 Β

Re: drawing girls (and take this with a grain of salt, since I'm not an expert), what I'm seeing is that necks and shoulders are too thick and wide. Not that there aren't some girls out there with muscular builds, obviously, but you're obviously looking for something different. I'd say make the shoulders less than a head-width and make the neck narrower than the skull/head. When drawing athletic girls I've always found it helpful to focus on muscle tone rather than size, given that female athletes are more often runners, swimmers, etc. rather than football players or wrestlers: big, bulgy muscles aren't necessary to drive the point home.Β

Ahhhhhh, no, but none of 'em topped two hours. Β The airport one was done in about 40 minutes 'cuz whoah boarding happened sooner than I expected hahahah, and LAX was.... a bit over an hour? Β Probably somewhere between 1-2hours each, I guess! Β

Ooooooh! Landscapes! <3 I wasn't expecting that~ Yeah, I do think saturation would help, but so would just getting in a better range of contrast. At least with the bottom landscape you hit an even medium tone all around. Still, man those views. That must've been so impressive!
I love Hui's design. That haircut is terribly trendy~

Just the next thing to conquor! I'm still impressed you get so much coverage with as few strokes. That's usually smething people have more trouble with than colour range so you're one step ahead c:

(I doubt many of them will wear any fancy clothes though since they're just a bunch of punk-ass kids; just t-shirts and jeans, sob)
