Description Boeden the Brave of *Binary-star-stables who was Grand Champion of the Year-end show for 2010.

I admit I think I shorted him a little on the mane and gave him a bit much of a tail, but it didn't register until after I'd inked it. I struggled a bit trying to get the sootiness on him, it's much harder to depict than one would think! The shadows are a bit on the warm side, but it grew on me as I worked with it. The original is a little more golden on Boeden and the cherry blossoms are a bit pinker and less grey. I blame the scanner.

Watercolors on illustration board approx. 5" x 6.5" and ink.

AAAAwwwwww He's so CUTE! Aw I miss Boe, I need to draw him more.

I love your watercolor style, I think this overall came out beautifully! The small details like the blossoms on the ground the shadowing are great. The idea of the pose and looking at the petal as it falls is beautifully done! Thank you so much for doing this, it is an amazing prize piece and I'm so proud I get to own it!

I'm glad you like it so much, especially with it being a bit of a "surprise" after your written description.

Thank you! This was done using the Van Gough pan watercolors, which I'm quite fond of. They mix beautifully and can be quite vibrant if you let them. You should give more traditional media a shot *grin, nudge.*

Thanks! The tree was both tricky and fun to do. There's quite a few layers of paint worked into that trunk.

Baw, you just haven't put in the hours yet. Give yourself some years and lots of drawing and painting and you'll manage.
