The coloring in this is very nice, nothing seems over done or over used. The depth in some of the details is very lovely such as the different color of blond the farther the hair is and the wrinkles in all the fabrics. The night scene outside is also very nice with the rain. All together, this is a good digital painting and a very romantic one at that. Good job.

Thank you - I'm a big believer in not over-compicating colouring.

ts, mere location formalities may never stand in the way of art!

I TOLD you, it's only stickler details that a normal person wouldn't spot, much less actually MIND!

Ahh, but I'm a perfectionist. I like to know the stickler details and I'm glad you brought it up. I am always at home to people pointing out little things like that, specially if I wouldn't notice myself.

So sweet! I really like how the photo bg came out! The rain looks really nice over it too! n.n

The rain was really helpful for obscuring how blurred the photo bg was. Thanks ever so for the !

oooh I like, I'm a sucker for dances like this, does he do argentinian tango or the classic kind?
Tango is probably one of my most favorite dances, it's distant and yet has an incredible fire, I think you did well with the coloursheme for the pic for that reason, and very nice expressions

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Larissa-Bright In reply to Merenwen-luinwee [2009-06-01 18:13:46 +0000 UTC]

I saw some tango videos and it just struck me as a very Hughish dance. As for whether he does Argentinian or classic tango... what's the difference?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Merenwen-luinwee In reply to Larissa-Bright [2009-06-01 18:56:32 +0000 UTC]

argentinian is more personal, more romance ish, as the normal tango is very classic and stand-offish (I only know the normal tango sadly)
both are very gracious

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Larissa-Bright In reply to Merenwen-luinwee [2009-06-01 19:07:29 +0000 UTC]

Hugh knows the Argentinian one then It's more inkeeping for him (he likes getting personal with people^^) and as he was taught it by two Argentinian girls it makes sense for it to be the Argentinian one.

Merenwen-luinwee In reply to Larissa-Bright [2009-06-01 19:45:38 +0000 UTC]

yes indeed
to bad though, I would've loved to dance a tango with him once in Me and my char (though with the speed we're posting it could very well take ages before we get there XD )

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Larissa-Bright In reply to Merenwen-luinwee [2009-06-01 21:31:12 +0000 UTC]

Awww you and Hugh must dance a tango in Me and my Char! (if you don't mind getting up close and personal with him that is ) Maybe we should scrap the turn order in Me and My Char to get it moving quicker? I say that because we're not paying much attention to it as it is and maybe it would make things easier. For instance, I keep thinking "Oh no can't post now it isn't my turn".

Merenwen-luinwee In reply to Larissa-Bright [2009-06-02 17:12:47 +0000 UTC]

thats true, but I don't want to exclude anyone... I think the biggest problem now is that the rest of that forum isn't active, so people are only checking it for one reason only... maybe we should get more rping going on so that people check it out more often.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Larissa-Bright In reply to Merenwen-luinwee [2009-06-02 19:25:06 +0000 UTC]

That's true too... well, it is your choice^^ I am excited about bringing Hugh into Me and My Char, though

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Merenwen-luinwee In reply to Larissa-Bright [2009-06-02 19:30:18 +0000 UTC]

yes me too... I'm thinking maybe we should move it though... my other forum is so much more active... I think it'll go faster that way... I think that's pretty much up to you though, since the others are also on there
(no need to start over, we'll just copy past what we now have)

Larissa-Bright In reply to Merenwen-luinwee [2009-06-02 19:33:32 +0000 UTC]

I don't mind you moving the RP at all - just let me know where it's gone and I'll see about registering on that site, too.

The photo's a bad one I took of the River Thames in London one night about a year ago - good to have a use for it at last! Hands are always tricky to draw - I haven't nailed them yet, unfortunately (though if you look as my efforts at drawing them a year or so ago I'm much better now!). Thanks for the detailedcommentary.

LisaTelramor In reply to Larissa-Bright [2009-06-01 01:05:51 +0000 UTC]

If it helps... I hope you understand I'm not criticizing. I can't draw hands either. I'm glad to know you can make it grasp something though. Mine looks worst when I have t hem doing something. The foreshortening, I think.

Larissa-Bright In reply to LisaTelramor [2009-06-01 18:22:57 +0000 UTC]

Ah, don't worry about that - I know you're not criticisng and I really value you pointing out little faults and such you notice. I like critique so I'm never going to go off in a huff when someone offers me some

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LisaTelramor In reply to Larissa-Bright [2009-06-01 19:37:04 +0000 UTC]

That's good. I do like constructive criticism, but if all someone does is complain, it's a bit rude. So I will request comments, but I'm reluctant to request more than that because I'm afraid someone will hate it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Larissa-Bright In reply to LisaTelramor [2009-06-02 21:25:54 +0000 UTC]

Hopefully when giving feedback most people are sensible enough to give critique rather than give unhelpful comments that say what they think is bad but don't suggest improvements... I'd've hoped, anyhow.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LisaTelramor In reply to Larissa-Bright [2009-06-03 14:01:06 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. But there are a lot of people who let personal feelings cloud over reason. Like I was reading a person's journal and a debate started over whether or not a character in a manga was gay--not written by the person who's journal it was mind you--even though the person never meant to insult people who disagree with her opinions. Everyone's free to have an opinion, but they don't have to get angry about it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Larissa-Bright In reply to LisaTelramor [2009-06-03 18:44:32 +0000 UTC]

If someone has an opinion I don't like, I tend to shrug and move on. There are so many people in the world it's unlikely they'll all agree with me!
