Description This is the reverse side of the tip-in. It was kind of complicated to make. It started with a wildflower card of fireweed, the label of which you can see at the bottom of the lady (if you squint). The card is attached to the substrate with maroon duct tape accented with paint. The lady is a transparency and I decided to see what would happen if I tried to burn the edges. Fireweed? Right? The lady is held in place atop the fireweed with a purple lace heart. The poem, of course, is by Eve Ganson.

It's hard to tell from this scan, but the binding was really coming apart here, hence the heavy use of fabric.

And then I had a couple of glasses of Cupcake Sauv Blanc and poured Diamond Glaze into the spine, to stabilize it. I sat holding the edges of the book together for about an hour, which accounts for the second glass of wine. This worked, much to my surprise.

It is no accident that Ms. Fireweed is competing with Our Helen for the title of "the most exclusive of the wild folk of the desert." This sort of juxtaposition is the reason I have come to adore tip-in pages!

" ....which accounts for the second glass of wine. This worked, much to my surprise." Second glasses of wine often work better than the first, I find.

How utterly true. "Second glasses of wine are treasured things," she opined, as she refilled her stemmed glass....

I am enjoying following your line of thinking with these Laura. I believe that they would gain a lot of impact with "in person" viewing, but the obvious experimental nature of the process is fascinating.

Thanks. I have one page to do, and some reinforcement, and the book will be ready to meet its pedestal tomorrow night. I think then I will be able to let it go.
