Description This is the second part of the sixth spread in The Spectator, my newest altered book. The spread is interactive and has four parts. That IS an old nail functioning as the door bolt. I found it in my street.

You can see the previous work on this book here: [link]

This is the first time I have attempted a spread with so many interactive parts. I was inspired by the work of *hogret , *widdywoo , and ~myroski on a collaborative altered book project done for The Artful Dodgers Group here on dA.

My altered book is built upon a 1930 copy of the Sir Roger De Coverley Papers. The original book is a collection of essays published in a paper called "The Spectator." In my alteration, I kept the spectator motif, but put myself in the role of "The Spectator," looking at the progression of my life so far. My work on this book has thus turned into a sort of visual autobiography in executive summary form.

Amazingly complex - really pulls you in and makes you stay for a visit. I love when altered book spreads do that!

Very intricate, so much apparently hidden!

Yes, there is. I was going for consecutive revelation. Not as skillful as work done by others here, but at least I got some experience under my belt. Always happy to be on a learning curve!

I like that little hand. I have little faces, too. Can't wait for them to jump into a piece.

All of these images have great interest. One thing here that stood out for me was the detail is the addition of the door pulls.

Doors and windows are so mysterious. I realized how difficult they are to do...learned a lot!
