Job Description :

Mathew is a Merchant, only he sells information. He collects and sells any information for the right price. He can gain his information in a various amount of ways. He'll do the research, ask people, or even get it straight from the source. He'll do whatever is necessary in order to get some cash for himself. He also enjoys the reactions and intentions of people who need info from him.

If the client doesn't meet ends meet he'll go after them until he gets paid.

Expertise :

Music (violin) -> Mathew plays whenever he can to get cash from people.

Social Sciences -> In order to get info he has to get certain people to trust him, this would of course require some people skills.

Flirting -> If the source is female, flirting would make things much easier.

Bargaining -> Another thing needed for his job, some people have to be bribed to get some info out of them.

Knowledge/Gossip -> He has a lot of info stored up in his head.

Weapon Description:

A sharp blade stuck into the top of his violin bow. It can cut and stab but its fragile so it cannot be used carelessly.

Accessories:

Violin Case: Keeps his money, instrument, and written info in there.

Necklace: It belonged to his sister.

Personality:

Mathew isn't very easy to decipher. Due to many traumatic events when he was younger, Mathew doesn't tend to open up very much. Sometimes he'll just say what he knows people will want to hear. If he knows he can trust you he'll be more of a big brother type. He also loves to tease people and he'll talk a lot with a sarcastic tone. Mathew also is very skillful when is come to flirting, experience with female clientele has given him much practice.

If you insult him he'll shrug it of and pretend he didn't hear it, if you do it again he'll come back at you physically.

The only time he'll be serious is when he's working with his clients.

Background:

Mathew was born in the poor part of Merioneth in Marseine. Mathew's mother died when his younger sister was born and his father would work nonstop. His father however had a gambling problem and would lose a lot of money every week, to the point where they were in a large debt. Mathew's father ran away leaving him and his sickly sister behind to pay off the money.

Things only became worse when Mathew's father cheated a royal commander for a lot of money so there were restrictions set on Mathew alone. He had to work and find his own jobs in order to pay off the debt, and he was not allowed to purchase any medicine or aid for his sister who had become gravely ill.

Mathew worked at various jobs in order to pay off the debt. He took a job at the library where the clerk would allow him to take home one book every night. He used the book to read to his sister. Another job was as a paper boy where he took sneaks at the paper where no one was looking. The final job was at a music store where he learned how to play a violin, the owner let him keep a cheap one.

However the more and more that Mathew paid off the higher the debt would be because his father would always give Mathew's address to those who want money. The worse came when Mathew's sister finally died. Mathew became devastated and even WORSE things happened when the government started to become impatient since his father wasn't paying any taxes either. They would not allow him to work in shops any more.

When he found out that army officials were coming to take him, he ran away to the capital and changed his last name. He only had a violin, his sister's necklace, and the clothes on his back. He played his violin in streets to earn some money but he still needed another job. In the first few days of living in the capital he came across someone who was willing to offer him a job, a job to find information for him. The job was done and Mathew was paid, continuously he kept getting clients like this. He eventually discovered that he was finding information for people who were planning a rebellion. He always thought that his way of life was due to the fact that his father was a terrible person, he realized that the government and royalty was partially to blame. He kept thinking though with every job he received from someone from the rebellion, he came to hate the government more and more.

Purpose :

Mathew blames the government for all the troubles in his life and for the death of his sister. He usually works alone though.

- Will talk in a sarcastic tone too often
- Enjoys the disappointment or troubles of others
- Cares too much about making his cash
- He flirts a lot.

Extra Info
- He's a big sucker for girls who treat him like a "Big Brother"
