This is such a huge possibility, but let's take it with a grain of salt. Team RWBY becoming the Maidens is a part if my headcanon (but Ruby is Spring and Blake is Fall). Other things in my headcanon, Sun is as strong as the one from Journey to the West, Neptune's Semblance is these snakes that appear off his body, and Oz gets his body back. Oh, and my antagonist is a Salem's son (my own OC of course).

Ehhhh, I'm waiting to see who the other two Maidens are first. With Raven as Spring, Yang's a shoe-in if she bites it. Ruby might get Fall because Cinder hates her enough to think about her when she dies (assuming she survived Downfall). As for the other seasons, who can guess?

Well, I´m pretty sure Cinder is still alive. I mean, if she died, the Fall Maiden´s powers would immediately seek out a new host. Since we haven´t seen the orange flash of magic rush to another person, Cinder is either still alive, or it´s just a REALLY long way down...

My thoughts exactly.
I have this little bit of a fanfiction, and while I don´t want to spoil too much, I can tell you that it´s worth a try.
Not only does Ruby learn about her silver eyes (courtesy of my headcanon), but Weiss becomes better at summoning, and Blake and Yang become badasses, too.
And if you like to theorize a lot, you´ll have a good time with this one. Maybe you even figure out what my OCs are ultimately up to before Qrow and Ozpin do.

The Maidens were something that Monty created shortly before his death in the volume 2/3 hiatus and were not part of his original plan. That's the only reason I don't think that we'll actually see the RWBY girls become the Maidens.
However, yeah, I think that you're far from the only fan who thinks that this is definitely one cool direction that you could take this.

Actually, no. It's a matter of record that they were created and inserted into the show pretty much as a spur-of-the-moment idea on Monty's part.
Monty was pretty notorious for turning up at the studio and announcing: "I had a cool idea last night. Drop everything because they're going to be in the next episode!" That's one of the reasons why so little happens in volume 1 and 2; he kept on dragging the team off on his creative tangents!

With the spring maiden being who she is, I suspect there won't be any maidens involved in the final battle at all. And if there are, Ruby's gonna insta-gib them on accident with her silver eyes.

So if I'm getting this straight: Ruby is fall, Weiss is Spring, Yang is Summer and Blake is Winter? I'm going off of the color schemes of the eyes. Also, I doubt Ruby would throw away Crescent Rose for a Maiden Scythe.

This is actually a really nice idea. Team RWBY becoming the Maidens is actually an interesting concept... but wouldn't Ruby's silver-eyed being cause a problem with it? Ozpin never really considered Ruby as a Maiden candidate (and more of a back-up plan), most likely because I'm not sure the odds of Ruby actually being able to ENDURE having the two types of magic that counteract each other inside of her. True, Raven has both her transformation and the Spring Maiden powers, but until we know more about Ruby's power, we really shouldn't count on her becoming the Fall Maiden just yet.

BenRG In reply to BladeSquall [2018-01-24 08:06:08 +0000 UTC]
You could hand-wave it away by having Ozpin/Oscar deliver a 5-minute exposition about the 'balance' in Ruby and how she's all the more powerful for being able to wield diametrically opposite powers at the same time and with equal skill.

As awesome as this would be, I don´t think it´d be a good idea for the characters to all become Maidens.
I mean, we saw what happened to Cinder when Ruby hit her with those silver eyes of hers, so Ruby would wipe out her whole team or at the very least kill herself next time she used her silver eyes.
I mean, Blake could probably get away with her semblance, but other than that, I don´t know.
Still, it´s pretty awesome. Also, if that really would happen, Salem would be f*cked.

FYI, Maiden powers aren't effected by the Silver Eyes, but Grimm are. Cinder was part-Grimm.

As far as I know, she wasn´t part Grimm when Ruby kicked her ass atop Beacon Tower.
Anyway, I´ve got two theories that would explain why Cinder was affected by Ruby´s silver eyes, the latter of which would even allow for Ruby to be a maiden herself:
1. Back in the day, Ozpin designed the Maiden powers so that Silver-eyed warriors could take them down, should they ever end up on Salem´s side.
2. Silver-eyed warriors can draw power from outside sources to temporarily increase their own powers, should they attempt to petrify a Grimm that was too powerful for them.

bypasser12345 has already explained the point I was going to make, but allow me to reiterate.
When Cinder used the Grimm bug to steal Amber's power, the bug resided in her & presumably became part of her as a result. This caused her to be heavily damaged when Ruby used her Silver Eyes the first time, & this is why she clutches her left arm - her Grimm arm - when Ruby uses them a second time. Raven goes unaffected.

Kartoffelkamm In reply to rxsilience [2018-01-23 15:37:58 +0000 UTC]
I suppose that does make sense.
However, what doesn´t make sense is that Salem said the Maiden´s power was what caused Cinder to be affected. If it were the Grimm, it wouldn´t make much of a difference, since she´d be screwed either way.
Also, how/why do you write in such small letters?

rxsilience In reply to Kartoffelkamm [2018-01-23 15:50:53 +0000 UTC]
It is curious, I'll give you that, but it contradicts what we saw in The More The Merrier, where Cinder clutched only her left arm, but was otherwise unaffected. We don't really know, sadly.
As for how, it's <.sub> — without the full stop, of course. As for why, I just find it more appealing than the larger letters.

bypasser12345 In reply to Kartoffelkamm [2018-01-22 20:12:28 +0000 UTC]
There was that Grimm-bug that Cinder used to obtain half of the Fall Maiden's power from Amber. I believe that thing took residence in Cinder the entire time since. Perhaps that's why she took as much damage as she did. I mean, when Ruby momentarily released her power at Haven, wouldn't Raven have felt it too if it only affects Maidens?
I mean I know it was directed at Cinder but it looks like the Silver-Eyes power have 'splash damage' if that makes sense. Still Raven should have shown some type of acknowledgement of being injured similar to how Cinder reacted at Haven.

Kartoffelkamm In reply to bypasser12345 [2018-01-23 15:47:49 +0000 UTC]
True, but there is a head-canon of mine that might explain why barely anything happened at Haven:
In this head-canon of mine, the silver eyes are the result of a fragment of the power of Creation, hidden in people´s souls to combat the Grimm and, by petrifying them, preventing them from coming back to life once killed. Basically, when a Grimm dies, its weakest form spawns somewhere else, with more powerful Grimm, like an Alpha Beowulf, resulting in several regular Beowulves.
Whether Oz knew this when he created the Maidens or not is up for debate, but I believe that silver-eyed warriors can draw energy from nearby magic-users if the Grimm they´re trying to petrify is too powerful for them to handle on their own.
Cinder´s arm appears to be that of a Nuckelavee, so it would make sense for Ruby to be not quite capable of petrifying it on her own. This means that she drew additional energy from the nearest magic-user, Cinder. As to why her arm survived, well, I suppose Cinder´s aura helped her there. I mean, normal Grimm don´t have an aura, so the silver eyes wouldn´t need to be able to bypass that.
That´s also why Cinder almost died atop Beacon Tower, because the dragon was so far more powerful than Ruby.
And Raven didn´t feel anything because her magic wasn´t drained to begin with.

Y'know, if this is how they'll look like, then heck, I certainly won't mind the cliche, although yeah, there's the question of whether or not Ruby is even compatible with Maiden Powers, or if Salem's warning to Cinder was more in regards to her "new additions", and the method which she used to gain Maiden Powers in the first place, I.E, the Grimm Scarab.

I actually really like this, but I gotta ask: Is Ruby even compatible with a Maiden's power? At the beginning of Volume 4, Salem said that it was because of the Maiden's power that Cinder got so badly hurt by Ruby's silver eyes (at least that's part of the reason). So what would happen if a silver-eyed girl gained a Maiden's power?

I thought that was because Cinder's arm was grim. She was holding her arm when Ruby used the silver eyes.
