Description
A papercut based on... yes, My Little Pony. I'm not ashamed!11 different paper types were used and hand-cut, and the circular design is based off a motif in one of the stained glass pieces in Celestia’s hall. Celestia’s sun and Luna’s moon make up the top and bottom motifs. I put in that detail shot so you could see how the paper sparkles. :’)
That’s the awkward thing about displaying paper works; it’s never the same in photos as it is in the flesh.

Guhuhuh it's so pretty! You do lovely work the lines are so clean. I really can't get over how thin the swirls on the border are, plus the circles are perfect. If I may ask, where do you get your paper?

Thankyou! I get my paper from a variety of places... some fabric/craft stores sell paper (spotlight and lincraft in Australia) as do art stores (deans art, eckersleys in Australia). Sometimes I'll go to specialist paper stores too, but even if all you have is white paper and some crummy paints you can make yourself nice coloured paper!

Add some numbers and this would make a great clock. The two could rotate as time went on with Luna ascendant during the evening hours.

That looks really good; I've never seen a papercut 'in the flesh' so forgive me if I'm telling you something obvious - would oblique lighting help bring out the differences?

I put in a fresh blade to get a sharp cut (it's very hard doing fine work with a dull one!)

I get a but freaked out every time I use one. I've seen how much blood the tiniest prick to the finger causes. Those things are dangerous. But so efficient! ^^
