....THIS ISN'T POKEMON.This is a new project I'm working on, The Legend of Zelda: Appeal for Pardon, based on the Zelda cartoon and it has a silly title.
I'm still working on Type:TRAINER, but yeah, I'm starting something new to work on alongside it. That way, theoretically, I don't get burned out on just one of them xD;;
I feel like I've gotten so much better

Doing two things at once is risky...you risk getting caught up in one story and forgetting to update another story.
With that said, this really looks good and I won't tell you what to focus on. Still looking forward to more Type Trainer, whenever you're ready.

It can be, but this way if I'm feeling too burned out on one thing I can just focus on the other. Plus, hopefully, doing twice as many pages means I'll be improving that much faster.

Me, I origionally started a fanfic called 'League of Extraordinary Games', what I figured would be my big project this year. Now that Dark Mirror has started, it's kinda fallen by the wayside. I just can't get motivated to write more chapters for it right now, with DM and A New Era. Figures.

Wow...this looks really good. I mean...no offense to Type:TRAINER, but this is leaps and bounds ahead in terms of art. Your faces all look different, the shading is there and it looks nice, and there are backgrounds that look just detailed enough--and the colors are great. (I don't remember Link being darker than Zelda, though...artistic choice there?) Either way, this looks wonderful.
...And damn you, you're going to get me back into the LOZ cartoon with this, aren't you? I never quite forgot that fanfic I was writing for it. If I finish if I BLAME YOU.

Thanks! I spent a LOT more time on it than I did the pages of Type:TRAINER, so I'm glad that made such a huge difference. Link is darker than Zelda because of artistic license, heh

It is racism, actually. She's a Gerudo, who are considered bandits/thieves in Ocarina of Time. I imagine their relations with Hyruleans only worsened as time went on, considering how un-diverse Hyrule is in the later chronological games, The Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link.

well they were also very new games too when gaming was very new. For all I know, it could be they were testing to see what they could do with gaming. Once the knowledge and technology improved so did the graphics and diversity of the characters in games.

It's true that the early games were limited by both technology & the fact that there really wasn't a lot of story written yet. But the fact remains that Hyrule is depicted as very racially diverse during its "golden age" (Ocarina of Time) and by the time the original Legend of Zelda takes place, there are only humans, Hylians, and Zoras -- and the Zoras are enemies. If a race that had once been allied to the Royal Family could become so violent and hostile, I got to wondering about the races that already had a bad rep and what might have happened to them. What can I say, I'm an anthropologist, the development of societies fascinates me
Besides, you really can't fault someone for being raised in a society known for thievery unless you actually catch them stealing, which hasn't been proven in the comic yet. I also can't remember the Gerudos actually referring to themselves as thieves, which makes me wonder if that's just a Hyrulean stereotype -- one or two Gerudo women come to Castle Town Market and steal things, suddenly the whole tribe is considered a race of thieves.
I'm sorry if you're not comfortable with me touching on such a delicate subject, but the Gerudo's position in Hyrulean socity & Ganon's relation to them is a plot point in the story and I'd like to establish it early.

Nah it's not that I'm uncomfortable with it(I'm neutral), I was just wondering where it was coming from.
I was looking at things in a technological reference and just from what I know of the games themselves.
I considered the Gerudeus to be kinda like the 40 thieves with a desert hide out and all.
Plus, the games story line is unstable with errors(look at the 7 sages with link to the past, and Ocarina).
Maybe, you can't fault them for being raised up in thieving society, but that doesn't make it right it acceptable either.
As for them referencing themselves as thieves, I don't remember them talking much anyhow. But if they were really that hated in the beginning why would the king have hired Gannon in the first place?
With the whole Zora thing in present day(if that's what they are, remember in wind walker evolved they grew wings from some reason), it could be also be that they are not connected but just share a fishy appearance(since they are called Zolas), or that they have been contaminated and turned evil by the the evil power(which is mentioned in a link to the past by the large Zora/Zola when he gives you the flippers).

I see the Gerudos as the remnants of a once-great society. The Spirit Temple was built by Gerudo architects and has very different architecture than Hyrule, and honors a goddess who is presumably separate from the standard Hyrulean belief system, so I see them as less of a "band" or "gang" (like the 40 thieves) and more of a separate ethnic group with their own culture.
What I meant by them being raised in a society known for stealing doesn't mean that the individual is stealing. You can't really hate a person for crimes people in their society commits if the individual him/herself isn't committing those crimes.
As far as Zora evolutions go, there's the problem with the split timeline, where Hyrule wasn't flooded in one reality, so the bird people would only have been created in the Wind Waker based games (and I'm convinced that must have been a magical transformation, because nothing evolves that drastically in mere centuries xD) It's possible that the Zoras and the Enemy Zoras are different races, though.

Also, thanks! A big part of the difference is how much time I spent on the page. A lot of Type:TRAINER was rushed, but I really took my time on this page - the biggest difference is in the lineart & line variation, I think. But I'm so glad the time I spent on it paid off.

It's a fun, campy little series based on the first Legend of Zelda game, so a lot of stuff that was introduced in later games (the Master Sword, the Triforce of Courage, the characters' in-game personalities, etc) aren't there. It's not a masterpiece but it's still a fun show ^__^
