I toned down the more speckled brushwork of the last two pieces, and dialed back the abstractness a bit, as well, with this piece -- mostly because I am still in my "commercial art mode." I am still looking to produce a painting to use on the cover art of my next book. This one uses the same fictional scene as my previous painting Fey Lon Anchorage. This time around I was going for a lot of color and a "tropical" feel for this piece as well. I'll have to work up a quick cover to see how this looks.
