Alita (Gally) of 'Battle Angel Alita' ('Gunnm') by Yukito Kishiro. It's a fantastic series read it!I'll be entering this in the drawing competition held at the London MCM Expo in a few weeks (wish me luck
)You can see the lineart & sketch of this in my scraps if you're interested too.
It's a lot better than my usual stuff in this kinda genre isn't it? That's what happens when there's prizes as an incentive for me to do it well
She's fun to draw; a really strong, interesting character, & I loved doing those metal bits (she's a robot incase you don't know the series!) I wish all fanart was this rewarding.Crit encouraged so I can make improvements on aaaanything you can see that I haven't already

Awesome! I like the differing textures, you can tell the boots are leather, the cloth is cloth and the metal is metal...and I like the grunge and gook on her boots. I also like how it's a more personal take on her face and not a direct copy of Kishiro's style (as great as that is) ^^

Wow, that's a pretty nice piece. I really like the pose and the feeling of depth you get...it feels like he's pulling in all his weight and preparing to explode outward. Colour scheme is good and gritty.

Needs more green though. Everything needs more green. Especially his elbows. And his skin. His hair maybe too...

Liiike, I printed this out for that contest with my dA url on it, but I spelt 'deviant' 'devaint.' Seriously. SO many people saw this (& my other entry lol) on a wall at the weekend & must've thought "aw look, retarded kid can draw"

amazing!!! there's so many details! it looks so realitsic, like the boots look like actual leather! really excellent work! the only thing i've noticed is that there doesn't seem to be much contrast bewteen the one hand reaching out and the shirt, but meh .. its not important ... and i wish you the best of luck in the contest!

^________________^ you noticed the boots! The boots are my favourite bit, I'd be happy to just have the boots up here without Alita attached lol.
I see whatcha mean about the hand, the material was meant to be dark on the gloves but there's gotta be some contrast to make it look further forward than the body...I changed it on the vers I'll be taking to the contest so thankyou very much!

The background is amazing- as well as the character herself.
Just to live up to my reputition:
On her leg in the foreground, the leg itself bends forwards, but the shaft of the shoe doesn't go with the leg.
That looks a little bit awkward.
Hope you can find what I meant.

I think I see what you mean about her leg, the um...the bit where the boot opens up onto her leg? [link] is the stock photo, so have I copied it wrong? I'll admit I didn't take as long as I should've done with the pose

Exactly what I meant.
I think the foottip is shifted a bit more to the left and the leg bend a slight bit more forward than on the stock photo.
But it must be pretty though to copy that pose.

The only bit I really struggled to get when I sketched the pose was the hands & arms, I just couldn't get my head round the perspecitve. I did check it over but I guess I missed the feet thing
