I'm trying to draw classic story book characters, and I started with Shere Khan from the Jungle Book. I've always thought his character was kind of crazy. I mean he's the only creature in the jungle who loves to hunt and eat humans. The real story about this tiger is that he was born lame and this caused his insanity...I think. well anyway, I wanted to portray him as a total batshit crazy cat who'd love nothing else but to eat you.This started as a daily sketch but I liked it so much, I took the time and painted it.
I really like how it turned out. I think next I'll do the gryphon and the mock turtle.

Edit: Sorry, I had to get rid of the horrid grass. it was driving me crazy. if you want it back just let me know...but if not then I'm going to leave it as it is.

Amazing! This really perfectly aligns with how I pictured Shere Khan when I read the book. The original Disney animated version really downplayed - nearly completely muted what made his terrifying. I'm glad the newest Disney version made him more dangerous.Β

I saw a college play that played Khan out like this:aggressive and hinging on madness and I think of the book version as that as well. Nice job all in all. You captured an insane mandated perfectly.

I think that this is more correct to say that every single animal in that fucking jungle is totally crazy except Shere Khan seriously we humans totally screwed everythingin evolution with our negative individual valor, this is just normal and even justice that humans being eaten

C'Γ©tait juste une illustration d'une histoire Γ©crite par Kipling, et il n'a probablement pas beaucoup pour le tigre. Ce n'est pas ce que je ressens sur eux!
