Description Commissioned piece. A friend whose son is now in his late teens requested a portrait of him as a child. Walter and my youngest son grew up together and I remember when they were both this little but it almost seems like a dream. Gah....I'm getting old!!

This is beautiful!  I love how you have captured that fascination and fun feeling that accompanies childhood.  The eyes sparkle and the texture/detail of the hair  and eyebrows is so perfect.  The tonal qualities of the skin against the contrast of the shirt, looks fantastic too.  I expect Walter was really, really happy when he received this from you!

Thank You! *LoL*  I expect Walter was probably more embarrassed than happy-his mom commissioned the piece.    She had had a portrait done of her daughter when she was that age and had always wanted one of her son done to match. They are neighbors of mine and Walter (who's 16 now) and my youngest son grew up together.  Drawing it brought back a lot of memories.

wow that looks so amazing!
I totally love how you made the hair because I find it always hard to draw hair...
and the eyes are so beautiful, really amazing :]
but you should write your signature a little bit bigger so that it's easier to read who drew such a beautiful picture

Again, thanks for the comments!   I have to say that I was actually pleased the way his hair came out-I had my doubts going in whether I would be able to achieve that short hair "spikey" texture.  I always dread doing men's short hair (I'm looking at you Jensen Ackles! ) I think I'm finding better ways of achieving it the more I'm "forced" to do it.   And thanks for the signature suggestion- I usually try to make it as small as possible so as to not detract from the drawing-I never thought of it that way!

And again, you're very welcome~
Hahaha well you did a very good job here, so don't worry ^^

Some time ago I had the same thought as you, that the signature should be as small as possible...
but everybode who saw my pictures told me to make it way bigger, so everybody could see it was from me.
They even complained when I forgot the signature...
believe me, nobody would be bothered by it

I think I'll have to come up with an interesting or unique signature that will just add to the piece...
