The first digital piece I've actually put effort into in ages, and it's Pokemon. Figures.On the other hand, I used this to practice digital coloring, drawing a group picture, poses... Okay, maybe I'm just trying to justify myself. I spent way more time on this than I should have.
I am proud of my coloring, pose and expressions in this, though. I really tried to make the pokemon look like their species while showing their personalities, and I think it worked out. I can't do digital lineart so I just used my pencil lines and it came out sloppy, but... whatever.
The characters are from a Pokemon roleplay on iScribble. Heh.

I mostly just think about the basic shapes that make everything up Cx And shade with the eyedropper tool. I actually used a baseball pitcher as a reference for the pose ;D Haha.

I mostly color by putting down the base color, and the darkest color, and then use the eyedropper tool (set to select an area of 5x5 px) to fill in the values in between. I started using the style on iScribble.net when I was informed of the existence of the "area picker" tool. xD I'm much better at shading that highlighting, though.

Kind of interesting that she ended up being the only happy one in the picture. Heh.
It actually didn't look that bad when I removed the lines altogether. But the expressions come through better with them.

Well, I really like this, lines or no lines. The expressions really bring life to the characters!
FUN FACT: as soon as I commented on this, I got motivated to go and play my own Soul Silver Nuzlocke run (I'm still in the beginning, haven't even gotten to Sprout Tower yet, mostly because I'm grinding until I can pretty much be assured my team won't get pwned). And once I did some leveling, I realized there was still one route left that I could check for a new team member. AND WHAT DID I CATCH? A FREAKING WOOPER.
I was so excited, especially because I chose Cyndaquil as my starter and then failed to realize how difficult it would be to get a water pokemon until way later in the game. I was SO lucky to get him. I named him Wally. :3 Water-type, Wally the Wooper.

I really want to do a comic. Unfortunately, I don't want to do one without at least having a tablet to work with, and my mom is telling me I should wait to get one until after this summer because I might get a discount through my college. I told her I don't think so, since I'm just looking at the Bamboo Pen and it's a pretty basic tab, but I think she'll be pissed if I just buy it myself. She doesn't get it. >__>
DUDE, I KNOW. I had quite a few badass Pokemon on my SS, but I transferred them over to my White. Unfortunately, the transfer system is really awkward, since you have to play this weird minigame, and the Pokemon you want to transfer can't know HM moves or be holding items. Seriously, it's my biggest complaint about the game. The transfer system sucks.

I hope you get your tablet soon! My parents are picky about what I buy, too >,> You could always sketch out thumbnails for your comic on paper or write out the script, so you're all set to go when you're ready to draw the final version. I'd have to do that anyway, to remember what happened in my game.
I've used it a few times (to transfer over the pokemon I wanted to see in the new game but couldn't catch). Transfer between generations is always iffy, though. I'm just glad we had the option at all. You know, there's something about seeing the previous generations' pokemon in the new battle style that makes me happy.
Still, the ones I transferred over were mostly ones I'd caught randomly. I feel like the 'special' pokemon from my Platinum game - my level 100s and my original team - should to stay there for some reason... Dx Especially since I can't send them back.

I've been taking some basic notes about what I'm catching at what level and where, just so I have all that down. I haven't drawn first blood yet *knocks on wood* but I'll definitely note that if/when it happens. At this point, I think I'm going to play through the run and just take notes before I write the script. I've seen a few Nuzlockes and decided I want my Pokemon to talk, since it seems to add good depth to the plot... which means MOAR script. Good thing I like writing, haha. Now, if only I could draw... I guess that's what paper practicing is for. *NONSTOP DOODLING, GO*
I can't wait to get a tab. I've been thinking about one for a really long time, but thought I wasn't serious enough. Now, I realized that, career or no, I really do like art and I would love to have it as a hobby, if only just to post comics and doodles on DA.
Yeah, there is something to be said for a transfer system at all. And I know what you mean about leaving the good ones where they are. It's like picking up roots and moving them feels wrong, somehow. I just thought it was more important to have them than to leave them behind, especially because I think my team could really help with the higher-level White league battles. I like mixing and matching.

Yeah, talking pokemon is really best. You can have a lot more character development, especially in a Nuzlocke.

Sadly, it'll probably be a few months before I get anything even vaguely comic-related out, but hopefully it'll work out.

Lol, well the thing is, if you transfer them, you can keep them alive and have them be just as badass as before, but if you delete them with the game, you lose all that work and emotional attachment you've had to them. I guess it's a matter of preference, but I'd rather keep 'em alive and fighting, you know?

It'll probably be a while before I have the guts to restart my Platinum game, either. Maybe we'll end up making our comics at the same time... 
Yeah, I guess it's also the fact that some of them have contest stats, too, and ribbons, and they'd all go away in White. D: Like my milotic (How the hell do you get one of those in Gen 5, anyway?) and my shiny roserade >,> And I'd lose the ability to use the Poke Radar (I've been trying to chain for a shiny ralts for... I don't even know how long) as well as the extra star on my trainer card... Not to mention all my items (I have a whole bunch of every evolution stone thanks to the underground and pickup... have anything that needs evolving, call me up...)
I know I'm just complaining xD It does kind of suck that you can't transfer items to Black/White, though. It would be nice to be able to evolve anything whenever I feel like it again instead of worrying about using up my stones. And I don't even know how to get extra evolution stones in those games... I've found two in dust clouds, but if that's the only way it's kind of annoying >,>

Haha, oh my god, that would be cool. And I've already decided that if my comic in SS goes well (and by well, I mean if I survive both Johto and Kanto regions, plus fighting Red), I'll probably also be doing a comic for Hoenn and Sinnoh AND possibly Unova, as well. You know, like a series. I already have a bit planned out in my head, and my mom told me that I can even get my tablet as long as I know I'm buying it myself (which I did, haha, she gets my college to pay for, I think I can handle a tab coming out of my savings). COMICS AT THE SAME TIME? CAN YOU SAY CAMEO? Because I can. X)
Yeah, that no transferring items thing was super lame. I mean, I get no getting extra Master Balls and stuff, but yeah. And the evolutionary stones were already so hard to get in B/W... I think those clouds really are the only way, unfortunately. LAME. There were some mechanics that could have been ironed out a bit better, but I really did like Gen V overall.

A series? Sounds awesome! I'm a bit nervous about surviving, too, especially since in about every game I've played my main team had all fainted countless times before they got anywhere near decent.
I really want to do a Hoenn one, if only to avenge a certain awesome team that my brother destroyed by restarting, because apparently it was "his" game and I wasn't "supposed" be playing it. Of course, he hasn't touched it in months. Asshole.
Eh, seriously? That sucks. I was really glad that in gen 4 there were ways to obtain multiple evolution stones. How am I supposed to evolve all my pokemon now without getting ridiculously lucky?
Yeah, it was a good gen. It felt new and exciting, but at the same time you were missing the old pokemon. And then at the end of the game, the FIRST non-Unovan pokemon I got was that magikarp you buy from the guy on the bridge... I had never been so glad to see a magikarp.
And the graphics were pretty awesome. Skyarrow Bridge? Win.

DUDE I JUST GOT MY TABLET FFFFASDFGHJKL SO HAPPY. I just messed around with it and it's already SO much better than trying to draw with a mouse. Of course, I still suck, but it's already ten bajillion times better, so I'm really excited.
Oh my god, if anyone ever did that to a game I was playing, whether it was "theirs" or not, I'd kill them. Siblings and cousins suck like that, don't they?
I actually just bought Pokemon Platinum, and now it's just a matter of finding/bribing my cousin to give me my Sapphire back, if I can't get a copy of Emerald. Again, COUSINS. Yuck.
I have an idea for a series in my head using the same character. I think it could be cool, but I'd have to get comfortable with drawing comics first. It's not easy at all... o___o

Congrats! What type of tablet is it? I remember mine took a lot of getting used to, my lines were really shaky at first. But it was definitely better in the end.
And yeah... I swear, it was my best game ever. I started off naming my mudkip "Phish" and from then on all my Pokemon were named after bands or singers... I miss Metallica the skarmory .-.

No, it's not easy. There's so much to consider... panel layout, composition, coherency. I'm sure you'll get the hang of it fast though! Just draw a few random comics to start off... heh. And doing thumbnails of different versions before working on the final is always a good idea. ;D Uh... not sure if I have any more advice off the top of my head...

I'm not sure if I'd use the same character or not. I've named the player "Return" the past two games, and I started to develop him as a trainer character a bit. (Though I've decided he eventually gives up battling to start a stage show, haha.) Maybe I'll use him.
(Frus is his brother... They're almost personifications of the Pokemon moves Return and Frustration. I have more 'pokemove' characters in mind, too... *freak*)

Yeah, I can draw sketches, but actually making a comic is going to be retardedly hard. I might not start it until the fall, and even though I might not have time because of college, at least it will give me a little more time to get used to everything.
