Description "I may not have the talent, or the genius of my sister Luna..."
She said to the assembled priests of the temple, their haughty smiles and wicked grins all around her.
"I also have not inherited my Mother's boundless patience, or my Father's prescience..." The mysterious prisoner, whom the ponies of the desert empire called Harmony's Herald, stood defieant in her drab traveller's cloak.

"Then what makes you think that you will leave this conclave alive?" The high priest said. "All of your posturing against the Draconequus will no longer be allowed to continue. We can kill you, and discard you at will, what do you have then? What do you have, that we should fear?

"Power." She said, raising her rainbow maned head high. Her eyes flashing in otherworldly colours. "Pure. Overwhelming. POWER."
With a peal of thunder, crescent flames surrounded her like a sundisc, and her wings, bound and hidden under her cloak extended, blowing the dust and incence of the chamber away.

"My name is Celestia, and by my Decree you SHALL let my people go."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Enjoy that little bit from my personal headcanon. I wanted to take a break from the commissions, and try to do something really quick to work on my speed. By quick this still took my entire day to finish, so I feel really slow. :/

Oh well, I still really like this one, hope you guys like it too.

Hmm, seems perhaps you don't like the stories told from the Bible?

I admit, as a Christian I do believe there to be historical truth to it, even the miracles, but at the same I don't believe in a perfect translation or unaltered text.

maybe if there were some good stories in it (although not even then since i don't read books) , but instead it's just full of death and genocide , not my cups of tea , and as for stories like this , replace the interchangeable terms 'god lord christ jessus father one he holy spirit spirit of truth yahwey' with 'deusex machine' and realize what terrible writing it is.......

Fellmoon In reply to iamli3 [2014-05-22 19:05:18 +0000 UTC]

There are many stories that have more then death and genocide, or more those without:

Joseph, a man betrayed by his brother, a receiver of visions and later interpreter of dreams. One who would rise from servitude and imprisonment... to that of the right hand and second of the Pharaoh. Who despite temptation to abuse responsibility and power, neither having a secret affair with his master's wife nor putting his brother's to death for the wrong they had done to him.

David, from his time as a shepherd to defeating Goliath, his time on on the run from King Saul and his impressive story of friendship with Jonathan... son of the king, to his rise and fall as king. The story of David can serve as a message of how a man can rise so high... yet fall so far. A tragedy really, as David was a great man and even after such great mistakes and flaws he proves himself as a as all around a good man. Yet he never could make up for taking the life of a loyal servant and solider.

As a final example from the Old Testment I offer the story of Esther, I would say perhaps one of the greatest woman spoken of in the Bible. A woman who put her own life at risk to see the man she had married to save her people from death. A death that would come from breaking the rule that she should only come before the king when called. A woman of bravery, faith, and strength in her own right.

These are some of the stories that can be found, though there are many more to be found.

the joseph story was incredibly nonsensical , that or having a interpretation to explain what's happening/being said in all verses doesn't make for a good story format , and it also included genocide/famine "no flesh should be saved" for seemingly no reason........

www.pbministries.org/books/pin…

the david story david not only fucking knocked out goliath with a rock , but after incapasitating him proceeded to killed goliath with a sword , AND THEN proceeded to cut off his head with that sword , and to do that requires a lot of effort , so you'd have to meticulous and determined enough to expand the amount of energy required to do that , which is fucking psychotic , maybe a good read if you're into sadism/gore but im not......

also gotta love the line β€œGo, and the deusex machine be with you.”

www.biblegateway.com/passage/?…

and yeah this esther story does actually seem pretty decent , though it's hard to tell about anything exactly since it's still written in a format several thousands of years old , and while i don't like that this hamon guy was killed and that there was another attempt at genocide in the story at least fucking someone did something about it to try and stop it , what exactly this female did im still unsure of past inviting the king to dinner , so still a broken story in terms of narrative but like i said finally someone actually tried to do something proactive to better their world......

www.lds.org/manual/primary-6-o…

wait , faith? didn't see any mention of the deusex machine in this story aside from i think the guy telling the king 'hey let's kill the jews because deusex machine' or something like that.....

"I may not have the talent, or the genius of my sister Luna..."

Heresy. If it was so, Luna wouldn't fall victim of the Nightmare. Also it was Celestia, not Luna who planned Her sister's banishment for 1,000 years ahead. Yes, Celestia had in mind that eventually at that time tere will be someone to hold Element of Harmony.

How do I know it? As Lauren Faust herself.

I've always felt that Celestia tempers her magic due to the fact that if she really let go ...... she would fry most of a city, continent, or their world in a fit of rage! I wonder if that has occurred in her past? Say the desserts below what is now Eqestria, was once a fertile and green southern jungle....and as per your story is now a dry and arid waste because of a small solar flare at ground level! Love this work! Speed work? Your speed work is superior to most others long term offerings! Wow....Just.....Wow! Β Β

I have a feeling something like that must've happenned, a lesson she had to learn to keep her power in check, and that's why it's probably difficult for her NOW to utilize her full potential because she's been trying NOT to use them for a thousand years.

I found it funny that all the folks got upset that Chrysalis bested Celestia! It's my view that if Celestia cut loose to handle Chrisy the west wing of the castle would no longer exist and possibly slide the rest of Canterlot right off the edge of the mountain! By someone else's cannon the filly Celestia was stung by a bee in the garden on the nose, and out of shock she uprooted the grandest old oak in the garden to swat it! Then thew the tree over the castle wall to hide what she had done....it landed over 7 miles away! Don't get me started on the river clearing incident! here is a link...www.fimfiction.net/story/10083…

And that is why you DON'T screw around with a celestial.

Regarding Celestia and Luna's origins/birth, I've always considered them to be children of deities, making them demi-gods, i.e. powerful beyond mortal comprehension, but not quite on par with a god. Also that is a good point; Celestia is a little too by the book and lacks imagination, what with how straightforwardly I think she approaches most situations. Not saying it's a bad thing; she's still devoted to her duties and being a demi-god ruler whose NOT drunk on her own power is what makes her remarkable.

Should note, I've written a synopsis about a story taking place after Luna's exile where Celestia directly engaged a foe (in this case an impure alicorn named Mallis, who was a unicorn supremacist) and ended up blowing him to bits with her magic (he got better some 900 years later, i.e. modern period of Equestria). Just saying; we need more of Celestia and Luna engaging enemies head-on; really show that it's not wise to anger a demi-god.

Yeah, I feel likethey aren't anywhere near as powerful as their parents, and there's all sorts of cool fanfic possibilities with them. <3

How is it that in a lot of fanfics, including my own, it's always the unicorns who are the one's terrorizing all the others? XD
I dunno, it's just very evocative. <3

TheWolfJarl In reply to Longinius-II [2014-02-03 17:29:01 +0000 UTC]

In my story idea, after Celestia freed that particular area of Equestria from Mallis (meant to reflect a Celtic/Scandinavian locale), due to their maltreatment by unicorns, the earth ponies become extremely hateful towards all unicorns and drive away all of them, including ones not loyal to Mallis. They go as far as declaring themselves a separate state not under Celestia's rule, which she sorrowfully accepts and doesn't force the issue.

The primary plot, if I ever get to actually write it due to my engagements as a novelist and script writer, is meant to take place after Twilight's ascension, but before season 4 (and possibly Equestria Girls, though I don't personally consider it canon). Basically some of the remaining unicorns in that area, who are forced to live in the wilderness, resurrect Mallis as a lich (a magical skeleton) as an act of revenge against the earth ponies and very much continue the cycle of hatred. This leads to a blizzard caused by Mallis' hatred that slowly begins to affect all of Equestria, i.e. cold vibes being felt in all the outlying areas like Canterlot, Ponyville and even the Crystal Empire to an extent. Though after that it might be a little obvious as to what happens if you're familiar with the show's formula; it's up to Twilight and the gang to save the day (this is before they gave up the Elements of Harmony).

As for the lesson of the story; it's meant to involve Twilight's fears of what might happen to her bond with the rest of the Mane Six due to her position of princess, which Mallis intends to use to his advantage in an attempt to turn Twilight against Celestia.

The acolytes all snickered in the face of the billowing fires and the dust devils swirling. The high priest silenced them with a swift motion of his hoof.

"You must be sure of what you are saying, Herald," warned the high priest with a stoic countenance. "One must always remember that not even gods are invincible."

"Silence, whelp!" decreed the regent, her disk coruscating and flaring with her voice. "I will repeat it once more. By my decree you shall let my people go."

"And should we happen to disagree with such a demand?"

"Then I leave with the corollary to all other objects that dare to endure the will of fire. You will burn."
