I know it's not January anymore, but I still have a few pieces of the series to go.

Grave Of The Fireflies is still one of the saddest movies I've ever seen. It's so heartbreaking and I cry watching it every time, without fail. It also has a stunning atmosphere to it.
______________________Painted on Canson watercolor paper, using Ecoline liquid watercolors, Schmincke masking fluid and a light table.

Nice artwork I really like the background. I hated grave of the fireflies as a kid because it was to depressing.

I'm a bit conflicted. The texture you got is superb. I also get this was supposed to resemble a lantern. I guess I'd like to see more details on the characters. But if I take the characters' texture for what it is, it looks nice, it's varied, it catches the eye, one can study the patterns for a longer time, it's aesthetically pleasing. Except the boy's face - the splashes on the boy's face are a bit unfortunately symmetric - there are big circles with dark circles on the level of eyes, two adjacent darker strokes like nostrils below it and something that looks like white lips with a dark red interior of the mouth or a tongue. It makes him look a bit cartoonish. The background textures are done very well though. I applaud the couragous concept and the clever idea of using white to render fireflies.

That is such a great movie that I recommend it to everyone, but I won't watch it again (or at least again for a long time) it's so damned sad.
I like the way you've expressed this movie with the water color, with the color choice and all the texture, and firefly-light exploding from the girl's hands.

Aw, I remember watching this in class and it was just so damn sad...I cried in the dark...
BUT, very beautiful colours and the outline is just amazing! Watercolour is one of my favourite mediums...er, but not much of an artist myself, but it is just beautiful!
