NuPastel, Unison, Rembrandt, Terry Ludwig soft pastels, General's white and black charcoal pencils on Art Spectrum Colourfix Suede (guess I haven't learned the first two times around
)Wanted to do another distraction while still procrastina working on the uber-time-consuming still life luthiennetinuvielle.deviantart… , so, here it is...
The Colourfix Suede pack happened to contain the toned blue sheet that was the exact shade I needed for the background, so, I gave it more more chance. And discovered that the CF Suede might work for some applications, like landscapes or stuff that doesn't require too many layers.
I did very little blending on this one, doing most of colour mixing and layering with the sticks themselves.
UPDATE: this one sold at my honey's fundraiser for our constituency yesterday. People liked it

The shading on the horse is so beautiful; it looks very realistic and shiny! I love the way the background is drawn as well. From my experience, water can be difficult, but I think you captured the different hues and the shapes and movement of the crashing waves perfectly. I can almost hear the sound of the waves and the horse's steps when I look at this drawing.
