Entry for quipquipquip 's contest to design a cover for her epic fanfic, No Dawn, No Day. (Full downloadable version here .)
I really am very pleased with this. I went for the more painterly-look and it's come out well. Possibly the most epic piece of digital art I've ever done, and certainly the best fanart.
~5 hours drawing and scanning, ~5 hours painting on PSE 5.0.
On the Way Down by Ryan Cabrera was the main soundtrack. I think it's appropriate for D.

I know I went on and on about how wonderful your work is last night when you first showed me the finished image... but I have to say it again. XD I love the lighting and poses!! And the hands are beautiful! I also really love the details in the clouds, I know I said that too... but I really do.

I seem to be surviving. Just about. I've had lots of little things go wrong for me, but I'm not really surprised; for my first month at Cherwell nearly EVERYTHING went wrong and I couldn't cope. Now I've done it once, and I'm all "For Ra's sake, get your things together girl," and not crying over it. I'm very busy (six ensembles!) but so far I'm coping. How are things going on your end? And I need to get something done for you to take to Vic... Right, that's my project for the week decided on.
