In all seriousness. That is what I feel like sometimes. A factory for Rainbow Dashes, but without the speed of mass production. She's my most requested character (obvious when looking through my gallery), but I suppose that's what I get for choosing to make her as one of the first ponies. Of course, I've changed things up a little with my GalaCon prep. Still more Rainbows than the other ponies, but at least I get to try my hand at the other ponies (I just hope I don't totally screw them up...).
I'm also on the verge of freaking out because I leave in 20 days and I'm not done a single pony yet! Yay! Oh boy... I'm surrounded by pony bodies, but I still have to design 8 new mane and tail styles. Fun.
That's my excuse for dropping off of the face of the Internet, and I'm sticking to it!
Also... I need a bit of help! I got an idea for some other stuff to make that I can sell at GalaCon, but I don't want to buy more materials than I must, so I have an opinion poll going. Who's Your Favourite Pony? I'll tally the results (because there is an 'Other' option for people to state their favourites, since there's only 10 slots for answers), then probably buy my materials in proportion of the most to least favourite.
I still suck with camera exposure. The picture looks waaay too bright to me.

I'm not sure who my favorite pony is. I guess I would have to say Pinkie Pie and Alicorn Twilight. I would look at what pony I make the best and go off that. This is also a wonderful idea also to get polls.

The poll is actually for something that doesn't involve any sewing. I could potentially make any main or background character. Since there's so many to choose from, I put up the poll so I could gage popularity and focus on, let's say, the 15 most popular.

Daring herself is finished and just chills out next to Rainbow. It's just the clothes and the way I work.
I designed Daring's clothes then cut them out at the same time as the other 23 ponies. Then I pin everything in one sitting, then sew everything in one sitting. So getting through the clothes takes longer than it should, because I run everything at the same time instead of focusing on a single character at a time.
I just hope the clothes fit. In theory they should, but I can't help but feel that some complication is going to come up.

I'm either brave, or stupid. I'm not really sure which. I've got all the bodies sewn, but I still have to design all the hair. Got any tips for Vinyl? I haven't started her hair yet, but I'm kind of dreading it.
Of course, for the sake of easy transportation, I probably won't have them completely put together before I leave. I plan to leave all the hand sewing for when I'm in France so I can pack the heads, tails, and bodies separately. So I'll probably be posting completion photos from Paris. Maybe get a shot of Rainbow Dash on the Eiffel Tower, haha.

Vinyls hair is easy if you pattern it piece by piece with paper towel or paper. Just cut out the pieces and pin them to the pony, and adjust/cut new pieces till it looks good. Use this as your pattern and it should come out exactly the same if you use all flat spikes. If you want to stuff them just make them a little bigger to compensate.

Hm, so it's not as much of a nightmare as it looks?
How did you go about applying the magnets? Are they just glued in, or sewn in, or something else (I'm not sure if there are iron-in magnets)? I'm still trying to decide what to make her glasses out of.

The nightmare is sewing the dozens of pieces on hehehe.
For the magnet inside the head, I just stuffed very firmly to hold it in place. I never figured out how to fix the magnet inside the glasses though.

I'm not so worried about he sewing part. Not after Octavia's tail, haha (about 19 pieces, because of the way I do it). I just worry about designing it to sit at the right angle and length and all.
So the magnets are just resting in the glasses? Are they really flat like refriderator magnets, or thicker? What'd you make your glasses out of? I'm debating between fabric and plastic.

19 pieces? My goodness girl! You should be fine, I know it XD.
I purchased some extremely strong magnets for the glasses, as regular ones wouldn't cut it. They were super thin, almost like paper. I used satin and appliqué for the glasses.
