COMMISSION INFO: [link]Can you believe me? Because I know I can't. I've re-re-re-restarted watching Legend of Korra. I give up. I've lost count anyway.
Before I started rewatching LoK, I've been thinking that there are a lot of parallels between Aang's universe and Korra's. You know, how the Avatar has as best friends 2 other people that are brothers (or brother and sister) and another that is a non-bender. Buuut anywaaay this is not related to this drawing.
I did this out of a psychical (I guess) need of mine. Because I really miss being a kid. I find it both fascinating and sad how some families grow up to be. How different from what they were. And how kids can be. When you're little you don't really ask yourself so many questions..
So I decided to portray these characters during a key moment in their life.
And don't tell me that Zuko and Azula never did once have a nice moment together. I made them slightly younger than in those flashbacks. And... kids will be kids.

Do you think you might update this to include Lin and Su? They are the only other pair of siblings I can think of--the others are in groups of four or five.

Sokka and Katara playing with each other, getting on each others nerves, they still remain tight and loving towards each other. Typical Brother/Sister relationship I guess.
Zuko and Azula start out pretty well, then they're at each others throats.
Noatok and Tarrlok are really close, then they become enemies.
Mako and Bolin stick together out of need, then they stay pretty tight!Β (FAV sibling pair)

How poignant and how significant this turned out to be. I love all the parallels between siblings here and I especially liked how you portrayed every single scenario with just their poses - their stance is all that's needed to tell their story. The contrast between their younger selves and how they grew up was just spot-on, yet I can't help feeling sad for two of them in this case. Very fascinating, very well done.
