Description I offer my clients the option to personalize any print I sell. Usually it means changing markings, tail/hull number, title block etc. This one ended up being a major rework of my earlier Los Angeles Class Submarine print. The client served on a Lafayette Class boat and wanted to know if I could customize the print for one of those submarines. I was able to utilize the water and backgound from the previous print but the sub is all new. A flip of the background helps set the piece off a bit from the Los Angeles one. I love working digital.

Lord God, our power evermore,
Whose arm doth reach the ocean floor,
Dive with our men beneath the sea,
Traverse the depths protectively.
O hear us when we pray, and keep
Them safe from peril in the deep.

Lord, guard and guide the men
Who man the submarines that guard our land.
Be with them always night and day,
In quiet depths or roaring spray.
O hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea.

Bless those who serve beneath the deep,
Through lonely hours their vigil keep.
May peace their mission ever be,
Protect each one we ask of thee.
Bless those at home who wait and pray,
For their return by night or day.

This is to let you know that this deviation has been featured here>>>[link]

No, you haven't won a free subbie or the lottery, just a little recognition!

Yes, the Lafayette Escadrille. Mainly composed of American pilots flying for the French in WWI. Named after the same Lafayette as the sub.

Thank you. Marquis de Lafayette was a French gentleman who fought for America during the American Revolutionary War. This is the thrid ship named in his honor.
