Description Once upon a time, a young man visited the tallest building he'd ever seen and stood and looked upon the world below. It was amazing that the views from flying machines and the views from this mighty tower were basically one and the same.

He didn't return to that high tower for many years, but when he did, he saw the sunset on those same views. There were many ways this could be read, of endings of old ways, of life's many phases, but he chose to believe that the tower felt obligated to surpass the younger man's memories.

Thank you!

I am reading Neil Gaiman's Stardust, and it was inspired by that.

I haven't had the opportunity or such a high view before at night - it was impressive! I'm glad you thought so, too!

Got to love any elevator ride that can make your ears pop like an airplane!

But the views made me forget it immediately!

Thanks!

Heh, I get to go there on business, but it's only close to me as compared to where you are! Too often, my trips there don't allow for moments like this!

Glad you liked!

Now that, my friend, is a SHOT!! I was at the top of the Sears Tower back in '96 (as you probably remember), but it was during the day. I had no idea the city looked so beautiful by nightfall!

Ah yes, I remember it well. I have a group photo somewhere at my house.

I had photos from the plane window that looked like the photos from the Skydeck when we visited it.

I did not have much time this trip. Got to do something for me the one evening so made my way down to the Sears Tower for lack of any other plans. The dusk/evening view is really incredible. Hard as heck to photograph - dirty windows, reflections from lights - maddening!

Lest I sound like I didn't enjoy it, it was a fun thing to do, just what the doctor ordered.

Thanks for the as well - glad you like.
