Description The cross pattern signifies the state's roots as an English colony ('old' York being both a city and a county in England). The orange, blue and white color scheme allude to the state's prior history as a Dutch colony and can be seen in county and city flags throughout the state, as well as in the colors of various NY sports teams. Centered over the cross is a rose, New York's state flower. In this rendering, I've used a Tudor style rose, which, not coincidentally, is also the symbol of Yorkshire.

I like this flag alot.  Do you mind if I feature it in an Alt history map of the North America I'm working on? You would, of course, be credited.

I really like this flag! Would you mind if I used this for a free-to-play mod for Europa Universalis 3?

Thanks! They'd have one of the world's few mostly orange flags.
