Description Yorkshire

Wiki[link]

Yorkshire is the largest traditional county of Great Britain covering 15.000 sq km with the population of five million.
In modern terms, a large part of Yorkshire together with a small part Lincolnshire forms the English Region of Yorkshire and the Humber,
and is itself divided into several administrative counties.

In early Anglo-Saxon times, Elmet, a Celtic kingdoms held out against the invading Angles to ensure the kingdoms of Mercia and Northumbria
on either side developed separatly. Elmet eventually succumbed and it became an Anglian kingdom of Deira, then , the English Kingdom of Northumbria untill
it came completly under English sovereignty.

There are now people in Yorkshire unhappy with all the modern subdivisions of their county who want to restore it to the traditional boundary and
with a substantial autonomy on top of it.
