I love the historical depth to which you two delve. I find it incredibly interesting and informative.
I DO have to say though, that most of her worlds are fantasy (even with anthros aside). The historic critique is almost like picking at an artist for naming their character Abe, but not giving him a Stove-pipe top hat or beard. :/
I agree with most of the technique related to the art though. The shadows under her feet seem off, and the tail is a little over simplified. However, in reference to the problem with her breasts, please google Bianca Beauchamp. :3

See, you've made some good points about the viking stuff, however I must step in with my creative anachronist (We call 'em re-enactors where I'm from) head on (I specialize in Viking-ry) and point out that, although, yes, Frey(j)a was the name of a goddess, it was also a very popular (and still is very popular) name for a child (or anthro), where you pointed out the Scottish tartan, by all means fine, but Brythonic warriors, allied with the vikings, were tartan clad and oft found in viking camps, so the vikings would have access to tartan.
Another point you make about the Brinsingamen et al (If indeed this is a portrayal of the goddess) I'll point you the way of the Eddas, wherein a fair few number of times the goddess herself goes down to the realm of men (or anthropomorphic's) and disguises herself by not taking her trademark items.
As for the lack of shield, as a warrior myself (re-enactor, again) I'd say that depicted was the 2 handed 9ft spear, rather than the more wieldy 4ft spear which can be used with a shield. The point about the turquoise is also brought to question, as with getting as far as Africa and (disputably) the Americas, having major trade ports in the Byzantium Constantinople (Nowadays, Istanbul) the Vikings would have had access to turquoise.
However you point about the chain-mail stands true.

mmm...i mentioned the possibility of the tartan being from the nomadic/trade nature of the vikings if i'm not mistaken. Also, the crown and all of the gold would not suggest that she was in disguise, although that is a good reference. (indeed, i know of the eddas - i referenced them in my critique, thanks). And i was more so pointing out that warriors in their right mind wouldn't use a two handed spear like that in close combat- a sword and sheild / sword and shortspear would be the choice (aside from the few warriors in the eddas that i already mentioned that used long spears or the weapons that translate to halberds). Thanks for the critique of my critique tho.

Yer welcome, it's not often I get to actually think about a critique, y'know? Most people just accept what they see and move along.

well, vikings are pretty kick ass. i'm working on a viking warrior munny and a shaman of odin munny that i'm trying to keep historically accurate, and theyre easily the best toys i've made thus far.

A very interesting (albeit lovely) rendition of the buxom Vanir turned Goddess Freya. I have to say I've never before thought of incorporating more cat like aspects to her other than in personality. There is just one thing missing, and thats her Golden necklace (forgive me for not knowing its name at the moment). I also never really imagined her with a spear either, but then again its a fitting weapon for the head of the Valkyries...good work

Nice render! Good usage of textures and it fits the scene well.
If you're taking critiques, I would say:
- The left shoulder with the arm brace looks a little strange. There should be a bulge where the shoulder muscle transitions with the biceps (unless it is covered by hair).
- Moved the main character more to the left so that she lines up with the rule of third, but keep the spear exactly where it is, because you've got a nice chiaroscuro effect happening (light on dark).
Just curious, did you comp in a 3d background render?
