Question: Where do baby fairies come from?Crunched for time, I thought this would be a quickie
So I put other (more time consuming) ideas for projects on hold and had a go at this months theme for *childrensillustrator : underground.I didn't have a clue what I was going to paint, like I told a friend the only thing I could think of was 'dirt'. So I started painting the sky and the dirt, and hit inspiration when I started painting in a tulip bulb
I thought this would be fast, but fell in love with the theme...so it ended up taking more like 30 hours than the 10- 15 I'd planned on. I love it when a painting is so engaging it's hard to finish...it's the process I love

I just checked the 'created on' date of the file for mine and it says May 6th and I posted it May 11th. I would have been about halfway into painting mine when yours was posted on May 8th

That's what I was thinking too. We were both picking our ideas out of the same "idea tree" in the far off land where all subconscious comes together.
Yours is a very beautiful piece and it makes me wish I was more skilled in my technique. Over the years I've gotten lazy and used to just sketching up ideas and then sending them off to someone else to do the finish on it. I'm trying to be my own artist again now, and dig myself out of that rut though. Thank you for the compliment. I appreciate it.
