"You have too many pets!"I think the blonde mermaid is commenting to her friend...there are too many pets in their little cave
I love painting underwater scenes and I've wanted to ever since my Coral Reef painting a couple of years ago. So you can imagine my delight on learning this months theme for *childrensillustrator is 'underwater'.
I overindulged myself with this, its way too busy. But it was so fun, I don't particularly care

I love the detail in this, don't think its too busy at all. Life underwater is full and colorful, this is a wonderful illustration of that.

I can almost hear the conversation between the two blonde mermaids...
"There are too many creatures in here."
"Oh there are never TOO many creatures. Just ONE more .. pleeeeeeeeaaaaase..."
And the little brunette one in the bottom is just laying back and daydreaming of grander things in the sea.
The colors and details in this are absolutely fantastic. A real joy to look at.

No, honestly, I think they swim by batting their eyelashes, the ears are only good for steering left and right.
