Make a new layer, and click-and-drag it underneath your lineart (which should be on multiply, otherwise you won't be able to see what you're doing!).

Cut and Paste the image onto a new layer, and set to MULTIPLY; This makes your white transparent and your black opaque. You make a new layer underneath the Multiply layer, and colour there. :3

nice tutorial^_^ yours is the only one i've been able to follow so far>< i'm pretty dense...
one question though, i couldn't do it all in one go cause i had to go out and i saved it but it didn't save all my alyers just the half finished picture, so i've got to do it all over again.
is there any way you can save it so it keeps the layers there the next time you open it up?? i've got elements 4.0 if that makes any difference...

but thanks^_^ now i know how to not lose everything i've done^_^

ooo, that's cool. I've been thinking about getting a tablet and photoshop cs but the price of ps cs is crazy! So I'm glad I can still make cool stuff with the software the tablet comes with. But I guess photoshop cs is better than elements, is it not? I guess it's something I can think about for Christmas, on top of the Wii and a scanner. :woot:

Just wondering, do you know if ps cs is better than elements? Most likely it is but just wondering.... I hope I don't sound stupid.

Eh eh? Package thing? You mean you got Photoshop Elements WITH a tablet! Damn! Two things aI desperatly need! Okay, where did you get it, and for how much? Oh, and your tutorial is amazing! Helps a lot because it doesn't go all in-depth with all the little bitty stuff. :3
