...I sit at the edge of the abyss, and stare into my own soul...

We discovered that we're missing a window-stop on our window, so the window (which takes up practically the entire wall, floor to ceiling) slides out farther than the usual two feet. It slides the entire way... about a five or six foot opening. There's a two-foot ledge right outside our window. I couldn't resist... I stepped out onto the ledge as my roommate freaked out, and I sat down with my legs dangling over the edge.

We're on the seventh floor.

But it was amazing... wind gusting everywhere, and an incredible view of the cityscape, of the gorgous gothic cathedral below and across from where I sat... the night sky with its silver clouds... the gale playing the rustling music of leafy trees... absolutely amazing.

A guy on our floor snapped this picture from behind, and the seven-floor drop below turned out to look like an abyss. Hence the title.
