Description
Another Medusa mask...This one was made for Mardi Gras, so I did it in Mrdi Gras colors: gold, green, and purple (the eyes of the snakes are tiny amethyst beads).
It's all made from one piece of leather, handcarved & shaped without molds or forms. Every time I do one of these, it comes out really different.

They're pricey...the rattlesnake one was over $400. One like this would still be at least $300. Haven't made one in a while.

Whoa, I love this. Medusa is very symbolic to me, so this mask is powerful in meaning. All the twisted snakes are beautiful.

She's such a strong but tragic female character in Greek mythology. Fascinating 'cause she's supposed to have been a beautiful woman, turned poisonous by another's jealousy. Quite a character study...

I know, she is intriguing. I heard a different version of the story from a singer once, it fascinated me. Anyway, beautiful mask.
