Well, I always pictured Scotty as being a good natured jokester. I saw a video of their interaction at Vicarstown, and while Scotty did seem to tease Gordon, judging from his actions he looked like he was just fooling around, and Gordon, being Gordon, was being grumpy again. They are brothers, after all. Siblings do that stuff to one another.

I personally prefer to go with the RWS take, which shows 'em as being very united despite the distance (not to mention according to some books, Flying Scotsman was built after and his bro being an experimental "A0" prototype)

I don't think that Scotty meant 'little brother' as in actual age difference, since nearly all the older fans of the show and the RWS know that Scotty is the younger of the two. I think that he was just doing that as a joke to refer to Gordon's streamlining design.

Well, we don't know 100% his personality in this yet. We just have that 4 seconds of audio in the trailer.

Personally, I don't see 'em as rivalized (which is the impression the trailer gives of 'em), the book "Enterprising Engines" didn't state that
Not to mention Flying Scotsman canonically is the younger of both (in RWS)

Well, I see Scotty being like a typical sibling towards Gordon, loves him unconditionally, but loves to tease him every so often.

That tid bit doesn't real phase me that much.

All siblings tease each other every once in a while, so what's the harm in having the Flying Scotsman tease Gordon?

Besides, his Voice Actor delivered that line perfectly, and it sounds exactly what a sibling would say to their brother and/or sister.
