'Like Erma Williams, Ezra is only half human. But, his non-human half was certainly not a Yokai...

...but ANOTHER creature entirely.

Ezra's true nature made itself known when he came in defence or Yori Yureimoto, and her daughters.

when a gang of hostile Yokai tracked them down all the way from Tokyo, Japan.

While the creature Ezra turned into has been called many names in the past,

both Emiko and Yori recognized sharp toothed, silvered eyes polymorph as a "Kyosei"

(roughly translated into English as "Symbiote", or "Symbiosis")

These predatory creatures are unique, as they treat humans as both Prey and Hosts.

But are better known to the Yureimoto Family as humanity's final defence against Monsters like Yokai.

(Even Osamu and Amaya Yureimoto feared their kind enough to finally leave humans alone.
Never really knowing if the next human they encountered was a carrier for a Kyosei.)

But, with Ezra, it was a different case.

The boy wasn't just bonded to a Kyosei...he was actually HALF Kyosei himself.

And separation from his Kyosei (which calls itself "Venom") would be as lethal as removing a vital organ.

The question NOW remains...

If Ezra is a Human/Kyosei hybrid...then, who were his biological parents??

Where did Venom come from, and how did it first bond itself to Ezra in the first place??'

[Character Facts]

.While referred to as "Kyosei", and simply "Symbiote". The true name of Venom's species is "Klyntar"

And were created by a dark celestial being known only as "Kull".

.While most Klyntar are naturally benevolent, and desire only peaceful co-existence with their hosts.

there are SOME Klyntar that are more Parasitic in nature, and control their hosts so to consume everything.

.'Venom' isn't the only Klyntar to go by that name. There have been others in the past

to go by such an alias, and even similar names like: "Poison", and "Toxin"

.For reasons still unknown, Venom has been dormant within Ezra for quite some time.

gradually regaining strength the more times Ezra used his own Klyntar powers.

.Among many other skills, Venom can jump great distances, form tendrils (not unlike Fumiko)
shape his limbs into weapons, secrete literal Venom, and even camouflage.

Much like Ezra himself, Venom is a "young" Kyosei. and his power is still growing.
so, who knows what other abilities that the creature is capable of.

.Like all Klyntar, Venom is vunerable againsts Sonic and Thermal hazards (Loud Noise & Fire.)
Though, due to his hybrid state, Ezra has developed a resistance to these two major weaknesses.

.Sometimes Venom Interacts with Ezra, and others by forming his face from tendrils.
(and when he does this, he bears an odd resemblance to Ena Yureimoto.)

.Like all Klyntar/Kyosei, Venom requires a daily supplement of "Phenethylamine" to sustain itself.
Apparently this organic compound is only found in either Living Brain Tissue...or, Chocolate.

[Artist Notes]

With Ezra's Venom Form, I decided to take more creative liberties to separate him
from not only Marvel's Venom, but teh earlier incarnation of Venom that I tried to use for Barry Edwards.

Part of that was giving "Kid Venom" hair-like shapes, rather than the Spider-Man like bald head.

And, while I didn't give Kid Venom a white spider emblem (which EVERYONE seems to want)
I did add in something similar to it, as I feel some Klyntar probably do have such symbols on their bodies
in a manner not unlike the markings on certain poisonous animals, like Cobras and...yes, Spiders.

I also based Venom's eyes on the Spectacular Spider-Man version of Venom,
as their big, rounded shape meshes well with the round eyes of many Erma characters.

Apologies for the messy design here, but I really wanted to imply in one image
that THIS version of Venom has a variety of abilities that many other Symbiotes can do.

(so, yeah. "Kid Venom" can form blades from his limbs, too. Carnage isn't special now.)

[UPDATE]

After giving it some thought, I may redesign Ermaverse Venom at a later date.
(And by that, I mostly mean going back to the more traditional look.)

So, while this design will be outdated soon, I will leave it as it is.
