Description
Trying to flatten out my illustration style, ala [link] and Nagel. Still couldn't resist the urge for shading... arghh.Done by hand in Adobe Illustrator CS.

This is excellent Paul! The linear elements are great of course and I love the restrained use of gradients. The cast shadows are great, the hair and the hands ain't bad neither
One pic that's in the pipeline for me features a fur-lined jacket pretty similar to this one and I was planning on doing the fur much like this.

I broke down and used a wacom tablet for the fur, made it a lot easier. I did want to go back in and vary the line widths on the outline of the fur to give it more of a hand drawn look, but I ran out of steam.

Don't flatten it out TOO much! I love the way yer style is now, it seperates you from the rest IMO, which is a good thing! This came out really great!
