Description
Thank you to crampstock [link] for the stock photo to base my latest vector illustration on.Done entirely in Adobe Illustrator CS using a few gradient meshes, a lot of normal gradients, some flat color, and a couple of shape blends to make up the coloring for the drawing.
Still trying to find my favorite vector style while keeping it a bit unique. I hope you all like it!

Wow. That's amazing. I am currently taking a class in which we use adobe illustrator. Could you tell me how to make your own gradient or how you get a line of shadowing to go from one shade of pale to a darker one?

A lot of the more subtle shading in the skin was done with the gradient mesh tool. The shirt was layers upon layers of normal gradients if I remember correctly. The gradient mesh tool offers the most flexibility while shading but it can be difficult to control at times.

Always been a fan of Nagel and later of Dennis Mukai, I have a couple of Nagel prints in storage awaiting a place to display them. Pity he died so early in his career...
