Photo taken during some time with our local photo club... this was about the last day of Fall. The day after most of the leaves were gone and the dreary winter had set in.

Winter is only pretty during the first snow fall... that's about the only time I actually enjoy it and find it worthwhile to photograph, especially in places where the snow melts away.

One thing to be aware of during winter is that when you bring in a camera from the cold into a warm house, there's a lot of condensation on it. Similar to when you wear glasses in the cold and it fogs up when you enter a house.

Here's what I found out from doing some research on some techniques:

To prevent such occurrences, try keeping the camera warm at all times. When outdoors, keep it tucked under your coat where the heat of your body will supply some warmth. This will be difficult if you've acquired the bad habit of carrying the camera on your shoulder. So do what the pros do and sling your camera strap around your neck. Then it's easy to unzip your coat, put the camera to your eye, shoot, and tuck the camera away again.

Also when you carry the camera in the car, dont put it in the trunk, where it's cold. Bring it with you in the passenger part of the car.

The solution is to use a plastic bag around the camera and close it well before coming inside. Then the condensation appears on the surface of the bag, not on the camera.
