I've seen and bred plenty of albinos, but I only know of one or two found in the wild...

Thank you. And good luck with it. They're great snakes to keep, and they were one of my favorites to work with when I used to breed a lot.

Nice! I actually use shots of the top of the head in the field for identification purposes at some of my spots. Every king will have a different pattern of marks on top of the head, as well as different banding, and this can be used to identify the same snake from the moment it hatches, all the way through it's life.

When my corn snake was lil, she would strike at me all the time. She's have her mouth closed most of the time...but sometimes, she'd really try to bite me. *chuckles* Such a little spitfire then.

California Kingsnakes are normally docile, you most of found a grumpy one.

Juveniles are often aggressive for a while. I've found quite a few like this.

Thanks. California kings are my favorite snakes to find in the field. They're one of the few local natives that I don't get tired of finding. haha

Wish I had them in my back yard! I'm in the UK so rather limited with native snake species. I keep alot of corns tho which are beautiful

Yeah. California kings are one of the most common snakes around here if you know where to look. I found a gorgeous adult yesterday. I hate not having a camera anymore.
