First dinosaur I've drawn in seven months! I did I survive this long! I've been to busy drawing mammals, thats why! Pesky furballs! Anyway, this si something I've wanted to do for a while after reading "The First Fossil Hunters". Part of the book suggested that the legend of the griffin was based on the bones of Protoceratops found among gold deposits in Mongolia. It makes a pretty interesting case, but apparently this idea has been considered invalid. Despite that, the idea of the half-eagle half-lion beast being based on a dinosaur appeals to me, and even if it isn't entirely true, I think it makes a cool drawing! Obviously I've taken creative license in this drawing and it might not be completely accurate, considering we don't yet know if Protoceratops had protofeathers to this extant or quills that grew to resemble wings, but hey, you never know!
