Zorn is one of my favorite saxophonists. Even though he sometimes gets too cerebral for my taste I really enjoy his music, particularly with the Masada ensembles. When he plays live he expresses an extraordinary physicity, and you managed to capture it with this shot. Too bad he's an asshole
B/W is a very good choice and the contrast is great - I love the pitch black background, and the way everything blends into it (the mic, the saxophone shadow, the head). I like how you get to see his raised knee, hinting at the knee-in-the-bell technique he often uses. Finally, negative space is just the right size. Wonderfoul work.

zorn prohibited taking shots here... for sure not because he felt disturbed by shutter 'noise'. some musicians in the jazz are behaving like divas...
there are more assholes than one can believe in the scene (and not only there).

Yeah, I know... I already had a bad experience with Zorn (he was with the Cobra ensemble), after the show he completely ignored me and a couple of frieds who just wanted an autograph pretending he didn't hear us. A smile would just have been enough, he was very rude.
On the other side we had a wonderful chat with Timb Harris from Estradasphere, who signed our tickets, talked about his projects and also spent some time explaining us the inner 'codes' of Cobra. I just wish more musicians were like him, because that's the kind of people that make you enjoy music even more.
