Hip-hop often takes samples directly from jazz... There are a ton of hip-hop artists inspired and influenced by jazz. How can there not be resemblances? It may not sound exactly the same, but the relation is there.

Either way, Sharon Jones isn't a jazz artist anyway... She's more funk/soul.
