I've been very tempted to draw up some ponies, if only because the style they use for that show is SO GODDAMN CUTE FFFFFUUUUUU-
xD

That series is the best cartoon they've made in a decade. All other modern cartoons looks so cheap.
The animations are great, the music is fantastic and the writing is awesome. It's too bad us bronies are made fun of because it's about ponies. :/

Yeah, tv cartoons these past several years have really been sliding in terms of quality... I'll be looking forward to watching MLP, especially if someone like you is endorsing it! xD (I never expected you of all people to be a brony! That's quite awesome I must say. It's a shame that others make fun of all the male MLP:FiM fans, but at the same time it seems like most of the bronies are already mentally secure enough to continue enjoying the show without being too bothered by the criticism from others.)

As I said (quoting Lauren Faust): Only the manliest of manly men don't fear the girly elements in the series.
I think that the awesome animations are partly because the series is animated in Flash. I don't know what other TV series are made in flash, but I know that it simplifies animation. Just look at the tons of Internet flash videos and games.

Exactly! It takes a true man to sit down and watch (and enjoy) a show usually targeted at girls.
That's actually something that really surprises me about this show; most of the Flash-animated cartoons these days have a tendency to look really lazy and half-assed. Atleast, from what I've seen. But MLP really knows how to take Flash and make it look quality.

Forget Black!Badass!Heimdall- LOKI in the movie was BRILLIANT.

ffffft thank you~~! *w*
man I gotta go see Thor asap... :c
OH GOOD! I was kinda worried about what sort of character they'd make Loki out to be, so hearing this is very reassuring! c: augh I can't wait to see what he's like~~ xD

Oh Loki was awesome. I was worried because in the comics, he's pretty standard evil, you know, but in the movie he was very much more like his myth counterpart.
And kinda hot too :3

a;lkjsdfhgjks like his myth counterpart?? That is BEST NEWS right there. *o* It always bugs me when he gets interpreted as a flat-out evil character, 'cause there's so much more to him than that... :T

ForsakenChronicles In reply to midwaymilly [2011-05-16 20:01:23 +0000 UTC]
I agree with you there. That's one of the things that annoys me about the Marvel version (besides Sif suddenly being black-haired and kicking Thor-levels of ass). Loki isn't evil, he's the god of mischief, for pete's sake.
The movie did do a really good job of making him sympathetic. I wanted to hug him a lot. (Every other woman in the theater was wolf-whistling at Thor. All well and good- more Loki for me lol!)

They made Sif's hair black..?? noooooooooo DD:
In any case though, that sounds awesome. Making Loki sympathetic really is the way to go if you want to capture his true character properly. I'm so glad they realized that when they decided to make this movie!

fffft well I saw it yesterday and I definitely enjoyed it! : D I thought it was a really fun rendition. I was impressed with what they did to Loki's character. c: They actually made him even more sympathetic than I was anticipating.

I'm glad you liked it! See what I meant about Sif? (though I now have a little idea dancing around in my head of her having her own adventure while Thor is away or sometihng lol)
Really? More sympathetic than you were anticipating? How so?

midwaymilly In reply to ForsakenChronicles [2011-05-22 05:15:25 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I definitely see what you meant. xD I was a little disappointed that there weren't any signs of Thor and Sif being romantic partners at all in that film... But, I guess it is a superhero movie after all, and superheroes tend to go for the human women... xD;
Hmm, let's see if I can put this into words.... It really hit me at the end where the basis for Loki's scheming is revealed, and we discover that the reason behind all these layers of lies and deceits was to prove himself worthy to Odin... The mythology interpretation I've been most familiar with is Loki being on the Jotunn's side all along, so to then see him instead kill Laufey and attempt to destroy Jotunheim in order to prove himself equal to Thor was a very surprising switch. It really plays up the jealous side of his personality...
... Unless, of course, I misinterpreted his motives entirely, and he was actually trying to gain Odin's recognition just so he could gain the throne to carry out his mischievous schemes elsewhere. XD haha

-creeping on your comments like a creeper-
The Thor movie was pretty awesome actually! I never much cared for Marvel's Thor but he was super super cute in the movie. Also Heimdall... well Heimdall was black and it was interesting. He was a total BAMF though. xD It -was- incredibly inaccurate though in many many ways but I didn't really mind that?
Aaaanyways... xD
Ooh, Mrs. Sif, ooh. TAKE ME to valhalla NOW. Also have I mentioned yet I love the geometric sort of quality you have in your shading usually?

lolol I creep on other peoples' comments alllll the time~ x'DD
Oh man. That actor who plays Thor... hoooot damn :T;;; It really surprised me when I first saw the movie trailer, I was not expecting him to look so cute, fffffffff-- <3
... wait wait wait- out of all the gods they could've made black, they picked the one whose nickname is The White God...??? 8T That's either irony or ignorance or I don't even... x'DDD I am kind of amused by this though haha, I'm looking forward to see how they managed that.... xD
oh man do I spy a Hark, A Vagrant reference..? X'D and I will leave my armor on *shot*
and fff thank you~! *w* I find it a lot easier to do than regular shading, so I tend to default to that sort of style... x'D

Oh gosh. xDDDD That I did not know. That's -hilarious-, oh my.
x'DDD why yes, yes it is. A+ response
Oh and hey remember when I mentioned to you once that ridiculous horned helmet Marvel!Loki wears? It is a hundred times more ridiculous in live action. xDDD

woo! >: DD
... ARE YOU SERIOUS. xDDDD They actually left the ridiculous horned helmet aspect in the film?? xDDDD I figured that would be an element that they would take out in the movie, since sometimes superhero costumes get a makeover when they're adapted for film... X'D ohgoodness...

KatYoukai In reply to midwaymilly [2011-05-18 00:44:08 +0000 UTC]
TOTALLY SERIOUS, MAN. XDDD Neither his or Thor's costumes were all that changed up really. Although they scrapped Thor's dinky winged helmet so I don't understand why they kept the horned one... xD;;
