Just amazing. I always wonder how you do them. Do you wake up at night, realizing the thunder, jumping out of youre bed and just start shooting or what ?!?! I just dont get it but good job again!

It depends actually.

Sometimes I'll watch the storms build on radar, or outside, and get ready to take pictures. But in most cases the storms develop out of almost no where, and I am forced to rush down to the closest location I have at my expense to get a decent view. So yes, sometimes I am out pretty late, but with work and school, usually not very.

But i think at least the results are worth it I would do the same i guess but we don't have that many storms and lightnings in germany...

I guess it depends. There are a couple people who I'd enjoy watching getting hit by that.

what mountain is that just to theright of the strike? camelback?

i can never figure out where any of your shots are taken from too.. its somewhat maddening, you must go all over the valley to get them..

Don't think it's camel back. But most my photos are taken up at Rustlers Rooste near South Mountain, and The Point (near ahwatukee).

really..

must have had some really good shots from last night then (assuming you were brave enough to be out in it) it was right over top of that area.

Last night was absolutely amazing. The lightning was so frequent that the sky was constantly lit up. I have never seen such an incredible light show in my life.

Of course though, my camera was getting its CCD cleaned, plus it was raining pretty hard.

what a shame, i know i saw the most spectacular air-air strikes last night, kinda like the picture you got with 6 silmultaneous strikes on the ground..

back lit all the clouds, a few half hidden bolts.. one giant one that split 6 or 7 times.. truly a sight to be seen
