Description By far one of the most static charged nights I have ever witnessed. Incredible.

40% (68/183) of my shots were of spectacular lightning, I will only share a few right now.

it's kind of weird how that works. lightning will follow the path of least resistance which is almost never a straight line.

its probably spiraling toward you so it just looks like a loop

Fantastic. I like how all the strikes seem to be emanating from the same point in the sky, and how they completely dwarf the entire city. Great work, I don't think I'd be brave enough to pull off a shot like this.

I was very safe in this one. I must have been at least.... 20 miles away. (sorry for responding so late!)

Arizona!

AZ just happens to be one of the most lightning active locations in the country. However, this is only in the summer, and only for a month or so. Florida wins in a landslide when it comes to lightning.

It's exciting, and stressing at the same time. You get nice and pissed off when the one bolt you've been waiting for goes off right when your shutter closes. But this night the sky was absolutely saturated with lightning; I ened up passing up many shots.

you have to be happy with these. and i love how you have located yourself in a prime position for the skyshow.

were you using the timer for these or a remote shutter release?

Six bolts touching the ground from the heavens in one photo.. truely a breath-taking and beautiful picture.

The most breath-taking part about it, is this was one burst of electricity, in one second, not multiple bolts that just fell into the 25 second exposure.
