I'm not quite sure what your intent is with this comment, so I'll leave it at this: my ankles are barely thicker than my wrists. I still manage to stand with hips, waist, breasts and all. Fat accumulates at the core of the body first, and gradually makes its way out. People tend to be obese before you see fat around the outer aspects of the limbs, hands and feet the last to go. The character is tall, with a long bone structure. The proportions are reasonable for the character, and far more honest to life than most women drawn in this style.

It's kind of sexist of you to think that "sorcerer" can't be a unisex term

Last I heard, what's sexist is a guy putting a woman in outfit like that, blatantly relying on sexualization to draw attention to his work rather than originality, but you don't see me banging down his door demanding he let the poor girl put some clothes on, do you? See, sexism, and the nature thereof, is largely a matter of perspective and intent.
Also, she won't make me a sandwich, so what do I care?

Sex. You mean sex.
There is an important distinction between sex and gender, besides one shares it's name with an activity that just happens to be a taboo subject in our culture.

Yes. It's just a pet peeve of mine when people use the terms interchangeably. Sex describes the biological differences between male, female and otherwise (in certain species of mushrooms, they have up to sixteen sexes). Gender, on the other hand, is meant as a term describing the different societal functions that individuals fill in culture based on their sex.
I'm mostly annoyed because the only reason people use gender instead of sex is purely because the athletic, count-the-legs-divide-by-two meaning of the word is something that we uncomfortable talking about. Also there's all kinds of problems culturally that come up because people don't understand the distinction.
For example, despite being male, my interests in social functions very rarely overlaps with traditional male gender roles. Since I like kids and prefer doing work more associated with bread-making rather than bread-winning (despite the fact that I'm actually quite a terrible cook), I've had to deal with people saying I was like a woman all my life. I'm like "Fuck that. The things I enjoy doing have nothing to do with my sex. I was born male and I have no interest in being anything but male; I just happen to also have little interest in most of the things traditionally associated with being male because of our culture."
I just rambled, didn't I? Sorry.

SpicePrincess In reply to Freyad-Dryden [2012-03-18 17:37:25 +0000 UTC]
Ahh I see. Well, I'm sure I'm younger than you and my area of interest would of never lead me to figure that out XD So thank you for telling me.
I agree. I can deffinetly see why it's one of your pet peeves... it'll probably start bothering me now too haha
No one understands that in order to really be a male, a REAL man, you must first embrace your femininity. Not walking around in high heels and make up(unless one likes to of course) but rather embracing your sensitive side and not doing something just because the society has set up a specific set of rules that say "You're a man. You MUST do this. You MUSTN'T do this."
It's just all pointless once you really break it down.
That's quite alright. I ramble all the time as well. I don't mind when someone knows what they are talking about and rambles. It's the stupid people that ramble about silly things that gets on my nerves. U.U

Freyad-Dryden In reply to SpicePrincess [2012-03-18 17:58:32 +0000 UTC]
Not really. To really be a man, you kinda have to be born with the right equipment. Embracing your sensitive side is something require to become a complete human being, in my thinking. Trying to deny a certain aspect of your personality just because it doesn't fit somebody else's idea of a man (or woman, for that matter) just hollows out a piece of your soul.
The traditional gender roles are more for making robots than people. They're largely born out of the feudal era of Europe and are designed largely for keeping serfs in line. It hasn't changed much, except instead of serfs, the elite have wage slaves.
