Description A hand reaching for a flower, convoluted with an imaginary loop of string draped across the drawing. It goes off the page a few times, but it's one loop, besides the hand and flower.

Colored with colored pencil, line art here [link]

My scanner mangles yellow shades a bit especially it appears, and others to a lesser degree, and has a slight bit of asymmetric curvature which I don't notice unless I try to piece something together that was scanned in two pieces, like here. It is impossible to get them to quite match up.

pencil sketch, micron pen lines, colored marker, then pencil, 11x14 paper, march 2009

thanks! this one is the only one i've done quite like it but i will get to a few more, as soon as i have some more magic markers. guess i could try the same style with a different medium lol i love markers but they're really pricey for how much area of paper they cover.

thanks! inspired by stained glass a bit, like your series i was just looking at. now if i only had the patience to learn how to do real stained glass... humm no that's not the problem, it's just that i have no space available to work in really, too much stuff around the house. need to get back to cleaning, always cleaning...

Jezz, you just wrote what I wrote about the patience thing. Ahahaha! That's funny! Stick to what you are doing and the way you are doing it, your drawings are simply amazing!

Leave the stained glass for the future when you have more time or space, you can even draw the graphics you'd like to use and then pay someone to make the stained glass for you. One thing I know for sure, I will break many pieces of glass and probably hurt myself if I try to do some stained glass work.

OOOH... I'm intrigued. Explain to me about the string... You just lay a long piece down in various loops and trace it? That sounds really awesome....

i just lay it out in my mind. i thought of using dye or paint, but decided that it would come out better if i just imagined it, because there'd be too many stray marks with an actual string. these two paintings use similar lines [link] [link] the second one not so graceful, but comical i think...
