HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY 2011!

Gosh I should have waited until Valentine's Day to submit this, but... I couldn't wait any longer. My patience ran out

This picture isn't very Valentine's-Day-like, but oh well. There's hearts in it. Some of them are red. And white. Anyways, the character in this picture is Ami Fujishima, the Spirit Guardian of Weather. She is the mystery character in my 2010 Halloween picture.

Ami's color is gray, her shape is a spade, and her animal is a raccoon. No specific breed. If Mist is a twisted version of my personality, then Ami is the more semi-normal version of my personality. Ami is very artistic, and she is Japanese. She uses Japanese honorifics, which confuses the heck out of other people. Ami is an artist, but she prefers to paint. She does have a hat and rectangular-shaped glasses, but they are part of a spoiler involving Ami. So no more explanation on that

She strives intensely to make her artwork better and better, and she is a fan of manga and anime. She hates weaboos, she hates people who use Japanese words without having a clue what they mean, and she also hates people who use Wapanese. She is very nit-picky with small details in things. If you cosplay one of her favorite anime characters, she will critique it so intensely; She'll look at teeth, eye color, skin color, body shape, height, voice.. She won't call it a proper cosplay unless every. Little. Thing. Is. Perfect. PERFECT.

Her personality is very stand-off-ish, and she can be very cold-hearted at times. Just because she may be your friend doesn't mean she won't be cold-hearted at you, too. She despises immature people who live in a fantasy world and who aren't serious with reality. Her view on everything is very realistic. She has her own character, which she made as a pun after becoming a Spirit Guardian. Her character is the Spirit Guardian of Gashu. A pun on Gashu-Group and a pun on Spirit Guardians.

Before becoming a Spirit Guardian, Ami and Kimberly traveled the world, helping people in need. Ami is excellent at martial arts. When wearing her hat and glasses, she wears normal blouses, jeans, and tennis shoes. When she is not wearing her hat and glasses, she wears clothes that fit her personality more; Simple clothing with little tidbits of detail such as lace embedded around the edges. She hates short skirts and skirts that go past her knees. She uses her common sense to survive.

Ami's past is very dark, cold, and unhappy. Her past is mainly what shapes her personality of today.

Time on this art: Probably around... 20, maybe 25 or 30 hours.
Tools used: I sketched it on a normal piece of copy paper with a #2 pencil; Then I scanned it into Manga Studio Debut 4 to make the line art, and then I colored it with a combination of Gimp and SAI. I had to put it back in Manga Studio to do a few things to it, though.

Side notes: I decided not to change the colors on the Spirit Guardians logo. There is lace on Ami's clothing, it is just a little difficult to see. She is holding an oversized paint brush, and the waterfall of colors behind her is coming off of the rainbow-striped ribbon that wraps around her dress/skirt. And yes, my icon is a close up of her face. Also, the ribbon disappears behind her head because it bends upwards.
