With the Game Awards coming later this week and the possibility that we could possibly get a few new trailers for fighting game guest characters excites me to no end. Just surprising people with an unexpected yet awesome character in one of these video games is just an amazing feeling. These characters are also usually really fun to play and could expand the fanbase of the game that they are in. These characters that they get seem like they can literally come from anywhere at this point. The flood gates are completely open for the seemingly impossible to become possible. I can't think of many other things that can generate hype in me like an awesome new guest character in a classic fighting game series. Here are my top ten favorite fighting game guest characters. Some rules include that I can't double up entries from a single game on the list, but if the guest characters come from different games in the series then it is perfectly fine. Honorable mentions include Ryu, Cloud, Simon Belmont, Snake, and Bayonetta (Super Smash Bros), Jason Voorhees and Leatherface (Mortal Kombat X), Spawn and Heihachi Mishima (Soul Calibur 2), Scorpion (Injustice), Geralt of Rivia and 2B (Soul Calibur 6), Earthworm Jim (Clayfighter 63 1/3), Spartan (Dead Or Alive 4), Mai Shiranui and Akira Yuki (Dead Or Alive 5), Noctis and Negan (Tekken 7), Kratos (Both Soul Calibur Broken Destiny and Mortal Kombat 2011), Arbiter (Killer Instinct 2013), Shovel Knight (Brawlhalla), the rest of team RWBY (Yang Xiao Long, Weiss Schnee, and Blake Belladonna) in Blazblue Cross Tag Battle, and last but not least Captain Planet (Cartoon Network Punchtime Explosion). Now on to the list.
